Character creation Monster Hunter Generations Guide
Last update: 06 September 2016
Creating a character in Monster Hunter Generations, same as in previous parts, is very easy and does not introduce any consequences. The creation is purely cosmetic, so no changes made here will impact the game. Monster Hunter is not a typical RPG game - the class is determined only by the equipment carried, hunting methods used, and the general play style.
One decision here is often thought to be irreversible - the choice of Hunter Arts. That's not the case. It's just a beginning set that can be changed at any point. We'll get back to this in further steps.
The appearance and Hunter Arts can be changed at any time in you character's home. To do that, you have to interact with the chest. The only exception here is your sex, facial appearance and name. Those things are permanent.
Another choice during character development worth paying attention to is the choice of user interface. You can choose Type A and Type B, which are described as sets for beginners and advanced players, respectively. I can't agree with this division. Type B is
definitely for players who have an old Nintendo 3DS (or 2DS), without Circle Pad Pro. Type A is better for players who have a new 3DS, or an old one with additional analogue stick. The owners of a New 3DS or 3DS+Circle Pad Pro don't need a touch d-pad for controlling the camera. Additionally, Type A brings the mini-map down to the lower screen of the console, which works bad in combat.
