Exfiltration after the mission | Exploring the game's world MGS V: TPP Guide

Select the landing zones for the helicopter that are away from enemy buildings
Majority of missions (including side ops) end with exfiltration - the moment when you must leave the operation zone and go back to the Mother Base. Exfiltration can be done in two ways:
- Calling the helicopter - the biggest advantage of this option is saving time. If the circumstances are good, you will be able to reach the flying machine in a few dozen seconds after completing the mission objectives. It doesn't mean this option has no cons. First of all, summoning the helicopter will cost you some GMP. Secondly, the helicopter can be spotted and attacked by the enemies. The solution to the second problem is selecting landing zones that are away from enemy bases. The game will inform you about a potential threat - select zones where it is safe or the danger is low. If, despite that, you won't manage to escape, you can use your own weaponry or the cannon on the helicopter and attack the enemies during the fly away. Important - the helicopter needs some time to reach the exfiltration zone, so call it before you reach it yourself.
- Leaving the mission territory on your own - this method is not always possible and is not the best option as it might take you a long time. The only advantage of it is that you won't have to spend money on the helicopter arrival. It is best to leave the mission territory with a stolen vehicle. However, if you prefer, you can use the horse as well.
