Mission 2: Bon Voyage to Cambodia - p. 1 MoW: Vietnam Guide

New objective: Destroy the enemy convoy before it reaches the base.

You start in [1]. Your first task will be one of the hardest in the game. You need to set a trap for an enemy convoy, which will appear on the map after a minute. Do not be influenced by your soldiers' advice, because at the highest level of difficulty their ways of dealing with the enemy will not work. Select two of your soldiers, including one with a heavy machinegun (John Walsh), and send them to [2]. Place three others soldiers at equal distances in [3], just off the road, in a way shown in the picture below. The soldier with the M-79 grenade launcher (Carl Dillan) should stand on the left. Select a grenade launcher as his main weapon and grenades for the rest of your men. Speed ??up the game and wait for the convoy. A jeep and two ordinary trucks should bypass your soldiers. Only when the third truck, loaded with soldiers, appears on the map, slow down the game and save it.

Prepare yourself for one of the hardest operations in the game. Select a soldier standing on the right and throw a grenade some 2-3 meters before the first truck loaded with soldiers. Instantly, select the middle one and throw a grenade in front of the second truck - a bit closer than before (you can save your game again). Finally, select the soldier with a grenade launcher and choose the right moment to shoot at the last truck. Remember that when this happens, all trucks will stop, so start shooting only when the backs of the first two trucks are on the grenades thrown at the road. Also, you must destroy the last truck with one shot from the grenade launcher. If it doesn't happen, load the game and try again.

After the explosion, select all your soldiers here and tell them to quickly hide behind the boulder in [3]. If all had been done well (save your game!), the third truck would have been destroyed, and the grenades should have exploded right under the soldiers who were getting out of the other two trucks, killing the majority of them. The hard part is over, but it's not the end of the operation.

Make sure that your three soldiers are running to the boulder in [3] and quickly select the two remaining soldiers in [2]. Unlike all other vehicles, the first one - a jeep - won't stop, so select the soldier with a heavy machinegun and fire at the jeep. Shoot until you kill the two enemies inside and if you don't succeed, load the saved game and try again.

After destroying the jeep or getting rid of its drivers you must kill all other enemies to complete the first mission objective. Your opponents are confused and most of them will shoot to the rest of your men, safely hidden behind a boulder in [3]. Take advantage of this. Crawl in the right place, from where you can reach all enemies. They will start hiding behind the vehicles after a while. Keep shooting at the enemies until they begin to retreat, and when this occurs, the hardest part of this mission will be accomplished. Now, speed up the game to the normal pace.
