New objective: Recon the area.

New objective: Check the group of peasants.

It is going to be quite a long mission. You start in [1] with the task of examining a group of villagers in [2]. The inconspicuous-looking civilians are armed with automatic weapons and grenades, and will attack you as soon as you approach. So before you do it, divide your eight men into two groups and place them behind the rocks in [3] and [4] (shown in the picture below). Select one of your men and slowly start coming near the villagers, but once you hear the message that they have a weapon, immediately go back to the rest of the group. Most enemies will be killed by your men, others will hide - eliminate them from a distance using the sniper. You will receive a new mission objective and the map will enlarge.

New objective: Eliminate the Vietcongs by the crossing.

Order your men to cease fire and to run up the hill on the right. Then, have them lie down behind some bushes in [5]. Change the firing mode to "Fire at will". Your soldiers will quickly eliminate the two guards patrolling in [6], and also a lot of enemies from the group in the vicinity of [7]. You shouldn't suffer any losses in men. It is also worth mentioning that there are traps set in the woods in [7], so you'd better not go there.

All other opponents can be killed without a problem by the sniper. Some will be standing still and others will try to hide, so look for the red dots on your map. To knock enemies on this side of the river you don't even have to move from [5]. Once they are dead, move your men near the huts and shoot the rest of the enemies on the other side of the river [8]. Before you move on, search the bodies of enemies and pick up first aid kits and ammo for the sniper rifle. Again, change the firing mode to "Hold fire".

New objective: Mop up the old French bunkers.

Your next task is to clear two bunkers in [9] and [10]. Have all your people get down, lie prone and begin to crawl to [11]. Crawl between the boulder and the hill to the right of the bunker in [9] (look at the picture below). Enemy soldiers inside won't see your men.

Crawl behind the bunker and divide your men. Place two next to the bunker window (they should stand sideways the opponent with a heavy gun in the bunker). Then, place four soldiers behind the stone, behind which there's a group of six enemy soldiers in [12]. Leave the rest (including the sniper) in the bushes.

Throw a grenade into the group of enemies and quickly hide behind the boulder. Wait for a while until the surviving enemies run into the bunker, and then throw a grenade inside (use one of the two men you told to stand by the bunker, you can see them in the picture below). Wait until the shooting stops. The enemy soldiers will take their positions and will remain in them. If some enemies are standing near the bunker or intend to run up the boulder, eliminate them without leaving your hiding place.

Save your game, and in both cases: if some enemies are standing still in the vestibule of the bunker, or there are no enemies, select one of the men and take control of him (use the Insert key, as in this case it's more convenient than holding the Ctrl). Using the arrow keys quickly run into the bunker in [9], avoiding the enemy shots and shoot enemies in the vestibule. If there aren't any, stop right away and head toward the entrance. Thus, you will make sure that no other opponent can run into the bunker.

It's time for the sniper. Order him to lie down to the right of the rock and save your game. Aim at the enemies standing in the second bunker in [10] and start killing them one by one. Be careful, however, because the enemy will shoot you with a heavy rifle. One accurate hit means your sniper is dead. so after 2-3 successful kills hide behind a rock, save the game and wait until the fire stops. To get rid of the soldier who operates the heavy machinegun move the sniper to the spot visible in the picture below, on the edge of the hill.

From here you should be able to hit the soldier, who operates the heavy machinegun in [10] (he can be seen in the picture below). From the other position your projectile would hit the heavy machinegun instead of the soldier. Don't let the next soldier shoot at you - kill him before he starts to operate the heavy machinegun and, just in case, save the game before the whole operation. The task will be much easier if the enemies don't have access to the heavy machinegun. Kill those who are on the hill on your side of the road with a grenade, and the rest - next to the bunker in [10] - with the sniper. Finally, use a grenade to clear the vestibule of the bunker in [10]. You can also run into the building, and kill them by controlling your soldier directly. Still, we'd advise you to save the game before doing anything.

New objective: Set an ambush by the bridge and eliminate the hostiles.

In a moment a truck full of soldiers will arrive here, and immediately after that a large group of infantry will attack. Place all your men in the bunker in [10] and select the soldier holding M-79 grenade launcher (Carl Dillan). Place him near the bridge in [13] and save the game (of course, change his main weapon to the grenade launcher). As soon as you see the truck pass by, aim and shoot at it. Aim at the front of the vehicle and under it. An accurate shot should destroy the truck together with all the opponents. It might happen, however, that the grenade will smash against the vehicle bodywork, and thus, won't destroy the vehicle itself. In this case, load a saved game and after getting rid of the truck, run to your colleagues in the bunker in [10].

Position everyone in a way shown in the image below, as close to the wall with an entrance as you can, even one after another. This will help avoid the risk that those standing farthest from the wall are hit through the entrance. Take full control of the soldier with a heavy machinegun (Do Ngok Hung) and place him by the entrance. Save the game and simply wait for enemies. Kill the enemies right on the threshold, and if one of them gets through, your companions should finish him off (make sure they you've selected the "Fire at will" as the firing mode). After the first wave of enemies, you'll have to wait, because opponents will be less and less willing to run into the bunker. When there are only a few left, speed up the game. They will just come to the bunker one by one and die. The rest will withdraw to the river. Kill them with your sniper. Eventually, you will get new mission objectives.
