What's more, playing a Leader immediately summons Saskia to the board. |
Gold Cards |
Isengrim Faoiltiarna Isengrim has 7 points of Power and lets you play a Bronze or Silver Ambush card from the deck immediately. Thanks to this, you can take Toruviel or Morenn and play them to the board. |
Geralt: Igni The card has only 4 points of Power but can immediately destroy the strongest unit from the opponent's row when the total Power of a given row amounts to 20 or more. It must be stressed that if there are several units with the highest amount of points in the same row, they will all be destroyed. |
Saskia Saskia has 7 points of Power and is played immediately from the deck after you've used the Leader's ability. In this way, you gain 13 points of Power in Gold units. Saskia gives a play an incredible pace and additionally shortens the deck. |
Zoltan Chivay This card lets you move 3 units (your own or the opponent's) to the same row on either side of the board. If you move an ally, it is boosted by 2 points of Power. Zoltan Chivay is useful for moving units affected by a Weather effect or to change the row of Blue Mountain Commandos to activate their ability. |
Silver Cards |
Toruviel An Amubush card which is played face down. The opponent won't discover what card it is until he/she Locks it or performs an action that triggers it. In this case, when the opponent passes, Toruviel is revealed and additionally Boosts 2 units from each side by 2 points. In this way, you gain a maximum of 14 points of Power, which can grant you victory in a round. |
Morenn Another Ambush card. Morenn is also played face down and is activated when the opponent plays a Bronze or Silver unit and then damages it by 5 points. |
Sheldon Skaggs Sheldon Skaggs has 8 points of Power. Moreover, it changes the position of all remaining Bronze and Silver cards on your side of the board, moving them to random rows. For every moved unit, Sheldon Skaggs is boosted by 1 point. The card works great with the ability of Blue Mountain Commandos. |
Aelirenn Aelirenn is played automatically from the deck when there are at least 5 friendly Elf units on the board. In this way, you gain faster pace and shorten the deck. |
Ciaran Ciaran can Lock or Unlock a selected unit and then move it to the same row on either side of the board. Ciaran is useful in many situations, for example:
|
Scorch Playing this card immediately destroys the strongest unit(s) on the board. Before you play Scorch, make sure that the strongest unit isn't on your side of the board. |
Bronze Cards |
Elven Wardancer x3 Elven Wardancer is played automatically whenever you try to replace this card with another. In this way, not only do you gain extra Power on the board but also shorten the deck. The card works great in combination with the Leader's special ability or Vrihedd Officers. What's more, during Mulligan, you can immediately throw units into the game if you replace Elven Wardancers in the starting hand. |
Blue Mountain Commando x3 Playing Blue Mountain Commando summons the remaining copies of this card to the board. In this way, you gain 3 units with a total Power of 9 points. What's more, moving this unit boosts it with another 2 points. Blue Mountain Commandos work great in combination with Zoltan Chivay, Sheldon Skaggs, and Vrihedd Brigade. |
Dol Blathanna Trapper x3 The unit has 5 points of Power and sends a Fireball Trap to the opponent's side, which reduces the Power of every unit in the same row by 3 points. Dol Blathanna Trappers are incredibly effective in the later stages of the game, when the opponent manages to play more units. |
Vrihedd Brigade x2 Vrihedd Brigade has 6 points of Power and can remove a Weather effect from the row to which it was played. What's more, you can also move any unit to the same row on either side of the board. In this way, you can rescue other units from being destroyed or stolen. |
Vrihedd Officer x2 Vrihedd Officer lets you replace one card in hand. It works well to swap Elven Wardancer for another card from the deck. In difficult situations, you might also replace a completely useless card for a one that can turn the tide in the game. |
Vrihedd Vanguard Vrihedd Vanguard boosts itself by 1 point of Power every time you replace a card. What's important, the unit strengthens itself regardless of where it's located (in hand, in the deck, or on the board). |
Dimeritium Shackles A card that lets you Demote a Gold card to Silver and thus make it susceptible to damage. Dimeritium Shackles are also useful for Locking the opponent's units' special abilities or to Unlock your own. |
General gameplay tips
- During Mulligan, it's very important to discard Saskia and Aelirenn. These cards should be played automatically from the deck to gain pace and shorten the deck.
- If you can, try to discard as many Blue Mountain Commandos as possible during Mulligan. Remember that playing this unit summons all of its copies from the deck automatically.
- If you are left with Elven Wardancers in hand after Mulligan, don't worry. You can always replace it with the Leader card or Vrihedd Officers.
- Remember that you can generate several points on the board by replacing Elven Wardancers during Mulligan. It's good idea to do it if you don't have to replace other units.
- If you have Isengrim in hand, try to have at least one Ambush card in the deck. Otherwise, no good comes out of this Gold card. This is why you can use it in the first round or if you draw it during the match, shuffle an Ambush card into the deck.
- Remember that moving Blue Mountain Commandos boosts these units by 2 points. To do so, you can use Zoltan Chivay, Sheldon Skaggs, or Vrihedd Brigade.
- Sheldon Sakkgs should be played when you have several additional units on the board. In this way, you'll use this card to its fullest.
- Remember that Vrihedd Brigade can clear a given row from negative Weather effects. When fighting a Weather-focused deck, leave this unit in hand.
- Remember that Geralt: Igni activates its ability only when the total amount of points in the opponent's row is at least 20. If the opponent played a heavily-boosted unit to an empty row, move some more units there with Ciaran or Zoltan Chivay.
- Vrihedd Vanguard boosts itself by 1 point every time you replace a card. Try to save this unit for the final round.
- Before you play Scorch, make sure that you won't destroy your own units. Remember that you can destroy several units this way if they have equal amount of Power points.
- Dimeritium Shackles are useful for Demoting Gold units or to Lock inconvenient ones. In this way, you can counter, for example, a Succubus from the Monsters deck or a boosted Morkvarga from the Skellige deck.
- Dol Blathanna Trappers are very effective units in the later stages of a match. Try to use their Traps in rows in which the opponent placed a larger amount of cards. If need be, you can always move several hostile units to the right row to make the most of a single Trap.
- While playing Toruviel, place it in a way that leaves at least 1 unit on each side so that it can boost them. The ideal scenario is having 2 units of each side of this card.
- Remember that Morenn activates itself when the opponent plays a Bronze or a Silver card. Its ability works even on summoned units such as Foglets. Try to sense the right moment for playing this card.
