The 20th expansion for the MMORPG EverQuest by Daybreak Game Company, released almost in time for the franchise's 15th anniversary. The plot is connected to the events from the second installment in the series — the story begins in North Karana, which was visited by the mysterious Lady Lindenaria, The dragoness' appearance is the direct reason for the creation of an interdimensional rift, which threatens the land of Ethernere. You have to confront the beast and see what is her attitude towards the locals. EverQuest: Call of the Forsaken features a range of new locations, e.g. Dead Hills or Neriak 4th Gate, as well as new pieces of equipment, such as armor and weapons designed by the gaming community. Apart from that, the expansion introduces mysterious artifacts, which can be of use in the confrontation with Lindenaria. The last novelty is the Heroic Adventures system, which makes sure that the items and enemies found in locations are appropriate for your level — thanks to it, when visiting one location several times, you may end up finding different loot.

The expansion, released for the game's 15th anniversary, adds eight new locations (Arx Mentis, Caverns of Endless Song, Combine Dredge, Tempest Temple, The Lost Castle, and Thyliasaur Island) and new enemies, including dinosaurs. Additionally, the experience cap has been raised to level 105. The developers also added new side quests, as well as equipment, spells, and abilities. A keyring has also been implemented, which partially solves the problem with insufficient inventory space. The expansion utilizes the same technology as the game, released over ten years ago, but its visuals are more detailed.

Riding a friendly dragon, we embarks on a journey of destruction. Instead of flying, however, the dragon digs underground tunnels. Our enemies are mostly located on the surface, so we will have to jump out frequently to destroy them. However, each action like that has to be calculated, because the deeper under ground we are, the higher we will jump. By doing so, we will destroy buildings, fight bosses, and gather items. The implemented character progression system will alow our dragon to get more and more powerful. The game features cartoonish 2D visuals.
