EverQuest II: Terrors of Thalumbra is the twelfth supplement to the 2004 edition of EverQuest II MMORPG, which, together with its predecessor published five years earlier, boasts the title of one of the longest developed MMO games in history. Developers from Daybreak Game Company studio enriched the game with a traditional set of novelties, such as a new feature story and a whole lot of additional content and minor changes in the mechanics of the game. Unlike the basic game distributed in the free model, Terrors of Thalumbra is available in several paid versions, which in addition to the add-on itself guarantee access to all previously released DLC extensions.
Story
Story EverQuest II: Terror of Thalumbra takes players to the vast underground kingdom of Thalumbra, home to many legendary races, but also to an extremely dangerous, ancient evil. When Lanys T'Vyl, the recently resurrected goddess of malice, opens the gates of this new world, Norrath's fantastic land faces an unimaginable threat and the inevitable end of the world. Only a few of Norrath's heroes (in the form of players) dare to descend into the underground kingdom and face the terror lurking beneath the surface of the Earth.
Mechanics
Terror of Thalumbra brings a lot of news and changes to EverQuest II. In the game there is, of course, a completely new, title land, which in terms of difficulty was calculated for players with mines level. 100. with it we receive 80 new, varied quests, as well as previously unavailable challenges and multiplayer rallies. Although there are no new character classes in the game and the maximum level of development does not increase, the creators tried to introduce a few changes in mechanics, the main goal of which was to make the game more attractive. Among them it is worth mentioning the new belief system, which gives the heroes various abilities based on the deities they worship, new types of Relic and Prestige items (required ALL Access account) and the ability to improve the statistics of your equipment.
Technical issues
EverQuest II: The Terror of Thalumbra doesn't stand out from the latest game extensions, offering a customized graphics created for previous add-ons compared to the 2004 original. Due to the fact that the game had its premiere more than 10 years earlier, it clearly deviates from most modern MMO productions.
