Gauntlet: Slayer Edition is a new incarnation of a dungeon crawler released on arcade machines in 1985. The players enter a fantasy world, and their task is to explore grim dungeons inhabited by dangerous monsters (giant spiders, armed skeletons), or even ghosts.

Compared to its predecessor, Gal Gunvolt offers 4 more levels: Factory, Bio Lab, Highway and Gym, which in previous game were available in the form of paid add-ons. We can choose one of three different characters in form of Mighty Gunvolt, Ekoro with Gal Gun and Mighty No. 9.

The game was developed by two brothers from the independent studio IN|Framez and is their first big production. We play as a spaceship pilot who travels through subspace tunnels. Our ship, which constantly moves forward, is presented from a third-person perspective. Controls are limited to steering right or left as we face numerous enemies.

The trap, in which the main protagonist is locked, has a certain interesting feature – each wall has a different color and can be expanded on the outside.

What’s interesting, the production does not feature any text or dialogues, which gives a lot of room for interpretation.
