A third person perspective stealth action game belonging to the famous Metal Gear Solid franchise. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was created by the Japanese studio Kojima Productions (formerly a subsidiary of Konami) led by Hideo Kojima. The story is set after the events presented in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, which served as a prologue. The main hero – Punished Snake – awakes in a hospital bed after having spent 8 years in a coma. Soon after, the hospital is attacked by armed thugs and the protagonist has to escape using help from the mysterious character calling himself Ishmael. In contrast with the previous iterations of the series, the game offers open world structure, giving players much more freedom. The developers also employed a brand new FOX Engine to power the game’s photorealistic visuals and advanced physics.

The fifth major installment in the bestselling series of tactical TPP shooters signed with the name of the legendary writer Tom Clancy. The title was developed by a first party studio of the Ubisoft company. In the game, the player once again assumes the role of a special forces soldier who, together with his team, participates in a series of dangerous missions in such places as Zambia and Dagestan. As the title suggests, the game focuses on the newest achievements of military science, allowing the players to test many prototype weapons and even gadgets like the special camouflage thanks to which a soldier that isn’t moving becomes completely invisible. Similarly as in the previous installments of the series, Future Soldier focuses mostly on the tactical aspect and the necessity to coordinate actions in a group. The single-player campaign is supplemented with an advanced multiplayer mode. Fans of weapons can also use a special system which allows for assembly and disassembly of customized rifles and pistols from a few dozen available components.

Tactical third-person shooter (TPS) that came out as a spin-off to the XCOM strategy series. The game was developed by 2K Marin, best known for making BioShock 2. The Bureau: XCOM Declassified is set in 1960s, showing the early stages of the war between XCOM and aliens who invaded the Earth. The main hero – agent William Carter – gets sent to places where aliens have been spotted in order to wipe out the invaders. Although most of the time you are shooting aliens, the key to winning a battle is tactical play, such as hiding behind covers, flanking, using alien weapons etc. The protagonist is always accompanied by two of his teammates, who can be assigned different classes and learn new skills over time, but they may also die permanently. Gameplay was designed for single player only and the only support the player gets is from his AI-controlled partners. After each mission you go back to the main base, where you talk to people, dispatch teams on various operations, etc. From technological side, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified is based on Unreal Engine 3, which assures high-quality graphics.

The story of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes takes place after the events of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Paz and Chico are imprisoned in Camp Omega, a heavily guarded military facility. They both have information that cannot fall into enemy hands. Snake and Kaz Miller must rescue the hostages. In contrast to the previous installments in the Metal Gear Solid series, MGS V: Ground Zeroes gives players more freedom. The game features photorealistic graphics powered by Fox Engine.

The action takes place in Dubai, which is devastated by sand storms. The Delta Force team reaches the place in order to find the missing American soldiers who remained in town to protect its inhabitants. The plot of the game presents the player with grave moral dilemmas on more than one occasion. The gameplay itself focuses on traversing subsequent locations and fighting enemies. The player leads a team of three skilled soldiers. The dynamic movement of sand is an important element to the game, for it can become either an ally or a foe in certain situations. Apart from the single player campaign, the game features a multiplayer component. Spec Ops: The Line stands out with spectacular visuals and its unique, yellowish color palette.

A science-fiction turn-based strategy game that came out as a reboot of the cult series, UFO: Enemy Unknown, launched back in 1994 by Microprose. This new title was created by Firaxis Games, a studio founded by Sid Meier. The story of XCOM: Enemy Unknown does not follow any of the plotlines started by its predecessors. Instead, it tells a new story of the war between humans and an aggressive alien race. In order to protect our planet from the invaders a special organization called X-COM was created, with you as its commander throughout the game. The gameplay features two main aspects. In the strategic mode you plan your next move, complete research and develop technology, as well as manufacture gear and weapons – all this in real time. When it comes to skirmishes with the aliens, combat is turn-based. Most missions are procedurally generated, which relates to greater replayability. Battles are presented in full 3D, and the game’s engine allows for full destruction of environment.

A sequel to the 2013 jRPG Rainbow Moon, nominated for the Best Indie Game on PSN. Rainbow Skies features a completely new protagonist and a different world, although everything remains consistent with the universe created by SideQuest Studios, consisting of two open parallel worlds with expansive dungeons to explore. The gameplay is similar to the game's predecessor's, featuring turn-based combat. The mechanics, however, have been expanded: for example, new attacks have been added, and the dungeons are now filled with more action elements and dedicated minigames. Rainbow Skies also features a new dialogue and side quests, in which e.g. a treasure-hunt-type quests have been introduced. There is also an option of a cross-platform gameplay.

First huge add-on to the tactical strategy game, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, released in 2012. Created by the developer team at Firaxis Games, the expansion introduces many new features to basic game. One of the most important among them is a new resource – meld, a type of microscopic, robotic organisms that can modify human genotype. This allows humans to improve their body and even integrate mechanical parts into themselves. The add-on introduces a new soldier class as well – Mec Trooper - along with a special building to “produce” him, two types of aliens (Seeker and Mechtoid) and a new human organization, EXALT, trying to use alien technology to conquer the world. There are also new types of weapons, skills, and maps for multiplayer matches.

It depicts a world of the near future where military corporations fight each other in the name of their bosses. The protagonist is sent to the Middle East to stop his officially dead sibling, Liquid, from gathering a huge army that could create a global threat if allowed to launched an armed insurrection. In terms of the gameplay mechanics, the game combines all the best elements of the previous installments with several new features, such as an improved combat system in confined space, a new method of camouflage or a gadget called Solid Eye.

You have to count on more than your skills, as the key to success if often the cooperation with your teammates and the right choice of strategy when it comes to taking over bases and other important spots.

Anomaly: Warzone Earth is a combination of a dynamic action game with elements of a tactical real-time strategy - attempting an unusual approach to the popular tower defense genre. The story is set in 2018, when strange anomalies begin to occur on the surface of our planet. What also makes its appearance in the game are great war machines that exterminate civilians. We play as a leader of a strike unit sent to Baghdad on a mission to research the phenomena taking place there. The gameplay resembles a typical tower defense game, and the player controls a unit made of several combat machines with different properties. However, the player's task is not to defend their base, but to perform an attack on the enemy's territory and complete a series of missions we have been given. The game features a standard story campaign, as well as challenges that require the player to fight subsequent waves of enemies.
