The production is set in ancient Greece, where you play as a leader of a city, which means, you have not only to develop your domain, but also to care for its citizens and appease the gods overseeing the region. You can also expand you city by founding colonies and fighting other factions — you can send ordinary troops to battle or use heroes, who can defeat mythological creatures, loot mysterious ruins, and lead armies in the most important battles. Zeus: Master of Olympus features high-quality visuals, with detailed building models and ubiquitous citizens, going on about their daily lives.

A 2D platform game with an open world, inspired by Greek mythology. It was developed by an indie Canadian studio Alien Trap, known from, e.g. the well-received platform game Capsized. The game tells the story of Hera, who overthrows her husband, Zeus, and, driven by her dislike towards mortals, decides to obliterate them. You play as a hero, who has to reach the summit of Mount Olympus to save humanity and end the tyranny of the gods. The mechanics are based on such classic productions as Metroid and Castlevania, focusing on the exploration of the open world, and combat, in which you use spears, swords, and shields; the game also features stealth sequences. From time to time, you have to fight a god, and upon defeating them, you gain their powers. The unusual visuals of the game were inspired by ancient ceramic paintings. The production features a single player mode and a tactical multi-player mode.

The action of the expansion takes us to the oldest historical period ever recreated in Total War series, as we begin our struggle in 423 B.C., in the initial years of the Second Peloponnesian War, a conflict between coalitions led by Athens and Sparta. Total War: Rome II – Wrath of Sparta contains a completely new story campaign, taking place in ancient Greece and Asia Minor. There are four playable factions at the player’s disposal: Athens, Sparta, Corinth, Boeotia, with each nation having its own weak and strong points. The expansion introduces new buildings, units, technological trees, tribal affinities, and new historical personas. The gameplay is complemented by various periodic religious events and Olympic Games that require making decisions that have certain political consequences.
