The third installment in a best-selling slasher series, God of War, and the first one designed for the PlayStation 3 console. The game’s story picks up after the previous two installments, focusing on the war between titans and Olympian gods, fanned by the vengeful Kratos. The gameplay premise does not stray far from the standards of the series, focusing on spectacular battles with numerous opponents and mighty bosses.

God of War III Description
God of War III is another installment in the excellent series of action games. At the same time, it is the first one to be released on PlayStation 3 console.
Story
The story of God of War III for PS3, written by Marianne Krawczyk, is one of the game’s strongest points. It starts exactly where the second part left off, telling about the war between titans and gods, stirred up by Kratos. Through his actions the hero seeks an answer to a universal question: Does the man need any gods?
Gameplay
In God of War III Kratos gets new weapons, each requiring a different combat style. For instance, the Claws of Hades are two spiky stones connected with a chain, making up an excellent ranged weapon, which can also knock down nearby enemies. Besides, the hero uses a new system of magic and unique artifacts (e.g. Icarus Wings, Golden Fleece, or the Head of Helios – which Kratos uses to light a path before him). In God of War III enemies are even smarter and more varied than before.
Another essential feature of the God of War series, the boss fights, is now even better than in the previous games. The number of bosses seems to have reached an optimum – fewer than in the second game, but more than in the first one. An interesting addition is the ability to ride some of the monsters you hurt (e.g. huge cyclopes).
Technology
Since the third part of the series was tailor-made for the new console platform (all previous installments were released on PlayStation 2), the developers could significantly enhance the graphics. The main hero’s model is now built of 20,000 polygons (compared to 5,000 in the second part). Moreover, up to 50 opponents may appear on-screen at one time (previously it was only a dozen or so).

God of War Series
God of War is a series of action adventure games with a third-person perspective (TPP) view. The authors of the series strongly allude to the convention of so-called slashers (hack'n'slash) - the essence of gameplay here is the brutal elimination of hordes of enemies and fighting giant bosses. Bloody carnage is interspersed with simple logic puzzles and simple platforming elements. The series also offers the possibility to develop the protagonist and improve his arsenal.
