Sony Will Refresh Original God of War Trilogy (Rumor)
According to unconfirmed official reports, Sony may be working on a remaster of the original God of War trilogy.
Although the last two installments of God of War are immensely popular among gamers, there is still a sizable group of fans who appreciate the series' PS2 and PS3 era more. Among them is the creator of the original trilogy, David Jaffe, who recently complained about the direction the story of the once ruthless Spartan warrior has taken.
Perhaps those who share the developer's opinion, in the unspecified future will get what they so long for in the form of remasters of the original trilogy. At least, that's according to the information that Nick Baker of XboxEra shared during a recent podcast.
During the conversation the journalist stressed that he is not sure when such projects will see the light of day, but he knows that something is indeed on the way. In his opinion, however, there is no chance that Sony's plans include a remaster of God of War: Ascension, as he has only "heard" about the trilogy, and as we know the 2013 game is the fourth installment in the series.
Recall that the original God of War will celebrate its twentieth anniversary in 2025. It will therefore be the perfect time for a refreshed trilogy to hit the market. If this happens, perhaps official information on this matter will appear in the coming months.
Meanwhile, we can make the wait more pleasant by playing God of War: Ragnarok - Valhalla, the well-received expansion for last year's installment.
