Kingdom: Two Crowns - Call of Olympus is the second paid (and fourth overall) expansion for the RPG strategy game released in 2018. The DLC is the result of a collaboration between independent teams Stumpy Squid, Fury Studios and Coatsink.
Plot
Unlike the base version of the game, which took place in a fantasy world inspired by the Middle Ages, Kingdom: Two Crowns - Call of Olympus takes us to a land modeled on ancient Greece, filled with islands and dominated by the mighty Mount Olympus. During the game we take control of a ruler who must build a prosperous kingdom and face the Greed lurking on it, thereby proving his worth to the Olympic gods.
Gameplay
In Kingdom: Two Crowns - Call of Olympus we watch the action from the side. The game is based on the scheme known from the previous titles under this brand. We traverse our estates on horseback and take care of their development, erecting various production buildings and fortifications in our settlement, as well as producing useful tools and deploying the most powerful army possible. That last aspect is important because at night our city is attacked by Greed, with which we engage in multi-phase battles. Fighting on land and sea, we must protect our crown at all costs, as its loss is synonymous with defeat.
Compared to the original, this add-on stands out primarily due to the new setting. The DLC gives us access to islands where we can find temples dedicated to Artemis, Athena, Hephaestus, and Hermes, as well as quests waiting to be completed. We move between the islands using ships, and we can ask the oracle about where we should go next.
Mounts from Greek myths appear in the expansion, such as the three-headed dog Cerberus, the fire-breathing Chimera, or the beautiful Pegasus. The DLC also offers previously unavailable units, led by hoplites fighting in phalanx or ships equipped with powerful ballistae. The list of novelties is topped by divine artifacts such as a hammer or a bow, which provide us with additional offensive and defensive abilities, as well as the power to control fire, originating from the new hermit.
Game modes
