It is modelled on the classics of the genre - X-Wing, Freespace and X-Com series. The player's task is to repel the invasion of Earth and destroy the enemy's main base on the moon.

A sandbox space simulator developed by a lone designer, Damiano Vitulli. The action of NovaVoyager is set in a distant future, when humanity colonizes new planetary systems. Starting out, we receive our first ship and then decide whether we want to pursue a career of a mercenary, a pirate, a pioneer, or a miner. We can also combine all of these to create our own path. The fun takes place in a galaxy that teems with life, recreated in 1:1 scale on the basis of genuine astronomical data. The universe is densely filled with space bases and colonies where there is a myriad of varied quests and business opportunities. The game is characterized by impressive realism of the behavior of our ship, which can be controlled from the cockpit or in the third-person perspective. The extensive controls system also allows for manipulation of numerous onboard systems.

A sandbox game developed by Morgondag, a Spanish studio. The player assumes the role of a lone astronaut who searches for a new home in the unwelcoming interplanetary space. At the core of the gameplay lies exploration of space, gathering new materials and technologies, and devising new parts for eight modifiable ships. The protagonist can also be developed — the experience points we gather while playing can be spent on enhancing skills from the extensive skill tree. The available specializations include exploration, technology, the ability to find and extract raw materials, and typical survival talents. The characteristic feature of RymdResa is its retro visual layer and the original soundtrack composed by Tom Croke and Pat Jacobs. It is also worth noting that the game world is generated procedurally so every playthrough not only offers a different space map but also unique challenges to tackle.

During the game player completes various tasks, gradually improves his ship, recruits and trains the crew, of which every member has different personality and their strong and weak points. Star Traders 2 RPG offers many opportunities for combat in turn-based system not only in space, but also in atmosphere and on the surface of the planet. The title offers complete freedom of acting thanks to which one can decide whether he wants to be a space pirate, a merchant, a bounty hunter, a mercenary, a soldier or a spy. One can also freely combine various career paths.

And oldschool sandbox space strategy game with simulation and role-playing elements by Cold Rice Games. You play as a spaceship captain, and your task is to manage it while exploring remote planets. You have to e.g. recruit your crew and appoint them to their respective positions, all the while managing the ship's equipment and finances. During the game you go through many adventures, participate in trade and establish diplomatic relations, as well as fight various enemies. Thanks to the combination of many genres, Interstellaria is a very expansive game, which also makes it very difficult. The production combines the oldschool visuals and audio layer with more modern elements (such as sandbox elements) and is a kind of tribute for classic productions of the 1980s and 1990s, absorbing mostly due to their complex and interesting gameplay.

A unique science-fiction arcade game. You play as the pilot of a spaceship (one of ten unlockable vessels), who docks to a hundred space stations. The task is not an easy one, as the stations are quite small, continuously rotate, so the docking requires good skills. To make things worse, there are many obstacles and dangers in space, and they can ruin even the most easy-looking docking. The dangers include asteroids, space pirates, mines, anomalies, and mysterious black monoliths. You dock your ship by drawing a line of varying lengths, which corresponds to the ship's speed. You can also switch the engine on and off. Every action uses one unit of fuel. When you run out of it completely, you only have five seconds to finish the docking, otherwise your ship falls apart.

Another entry in the strategy game series created by the legendary developer Sid Meier. In a way it us a continuation to the Civilization franchise, especially Beyond Earth, to which it is connected with its story. What is different is that this time we leave our planet’s surface and focus on managing a fleet of vessels in space. We lead an expedition with a task to save a distant civilization from doom, which requires protecting certain planets and eliminating things that threaten them. Class units are replaced by spaceships, which we can modify and upgrade freely. There is also a complex technology tree known from Civilization games, and victory can be achieved in several ways. Sid Meier’s Starships uses the engine from last few entries in the series, although the visuals have been slightly simplified on mobile devices.

The player assumes the role of John, a pilot of the Federation woken from a thousand-year cryogenic sleep initiated by an artificial intelligence called Ellie during a great war against the Rebels. His task is not only to discover how the conflict ended but also to defend humanity from a new threat. At the core of Star Horizon are grand-scale space battles in which we participate sitting at the helm of a fighter. Our task is to aim at hostiles and make evasive maneuvers to avoid collision with enemy projectiles and elements of the environment. We can also replace ship parts and mount more powerful armaments. The course of the campaign is shaped by our decisions to a large extent – the game puts great emphasis on story and developing friendship between John and Ellie, while we can side with either the Federation or the Rebels.

The plot of Galactic Keep: Dice Battles is set in times when an advanced alien race kidnaps humans and puts them in their factories and research facilities on a distant planet. Soon, a rebellion occurs, and the result is that humanity regains its freedom and destroys most of its captors’ cities. After three hundred years, having integrated with the other species, people start to visit various worlds, although the majority still focuses on living on their home planet called Aarath. Mechanics-wise, the game is based on rolling dice and the formula resembles a typical board game. While playing, we can assume the role of heroes of various races and classes, and the gameplay revolves around exploring the universe and performing various missions, over the course of which we acquire items, talk to encountered non-player characters, solve puzzles, and fight opponents.
