A mobile battle-strategy game set in the world of Warhammer 40,000. It is a virtual rendition of Battlefleet Gothic - a tabletop game published by Games Workshop. Battlefleet Gothic: Leviathan was developed by Grand Cauldron and offers an extensive campaign based on the stories from expansions, comic strips and novels belonging to the Shield of Baal series.

Battlefleet Gothic: Leviathan, released on AND and iOS, is a battle strategy that lets you play turn-based space battles set in Warhammer 40,000 universe. The production is an adaptation of the Battlefleet Gothic tabletop game by Games Workshop. The project was developed by the French studio Grand Cauldron.

Plot

Battlefleet Gothic: Leviathan offers an extensive campaign based on the Shield of Baal series of expansions, comics and novels. It tells the story of the Tyranids' invasion on the Cryptus planetary system. The human empire cannot afford to lose it - planet Baal, home to the Blood Angels chapter, is part of this system.

Unfortunately, the first attempt to repel the attack ends in a disaster and most of the fleet and defense systems are destroyed. Even worse, Admiral Julius van Avacor has died during the battle. We play the role of his successor, who must gather the remaining forces and defend the system until the arrival of Imperial reinforcements, including the core of the Blood Angels chapter.

Mechanics

Battlefleet Gothic: Leviathan is a turn-based battle strategy in which we command an armada of powerful spaceships. The rules of play are based on those from the tabletop version. Despite the fact that the action takes place in space, the battles are played in two dimensions, and the slow movement of units makes them resemble sea battles.

We have access to a huge selection of ships with different characteristics and armaments, and the use of differences between units is essential for success on the battlefield. As the war progresses, we slowly unlock new ships and gain new skills for our subordinates.

Players aren't limited only to the Imperial forces. They can also lead Tyranids - new races and missions appear in post-launch updates.
