The action of the game takes place a few years after the events shown in the original.

In contrast with the previous, full-fledged chapters of the series, Fable Legends puts less emphasis on the story, instead focusing mainly on multiplayer experience. The game is set in Albion, the realm known from the previous games, which got invaded by mysterious evil forces. Players can side with either good or evil.
