EvilQuest Description
EvilQuest, released on PC and X360, is the second, after Chaos Shift (from 2010), game by the independent studio Chaosoft Games. This time, the developers from the American Knoxville decided to prepare an old-school action-RPG.
Plot
The action of the game takes place in a fantasy universe with science fiction elements. However, the character created by the player is an anti-hero. In the past, Galvis tried to conquer the world but was betrayed and captured. Luckily, he manages to escape from prison. The vengeful evildoer wants to destroy the world and kill the guarding deity. To do this, he must find the legendary Chaos Axe and unleash the power of four magical pearls.
Mechanics
The gameplay in EvilQuest resembles such hits of the SNES console as Illusion of Gaia. The game contains a large map, including several underground locations. As befits an action-RPG, one of the basic elements of fun is dynamic combat. During battles with enemies, the hero can use a variety of weapons, including melee weapons and spells. The experience gained through the elimination of enemies allows you to develop character attributes.
Technical aspects
The audiovisuals in EvilQuest are a clear reference to the 8-bit era. The 2D graphics used in EvilQuest have a limited colour palette and simple animations. The game is accompanied by a soundtrack with pompous music, which fits well into the atmosphere of the game.
