Dungeon Master II: The Legend of Skullkeep is a continuation of the cult cRPG game released in 1989, which was the PC debut of the series started in the early 1980s on 8-bit ZX Spectrum computers. Developers from FTL Games have once again served the best of the first part of the game - in virtually unchanged form, but in a much improved setting.

The plot of the next installment of the popular "dungeon crawler" focuses around Skullkeep Fortress, about which terrifying legends have been circulating for years. It is said that this castle is in fact a hellish machine, opening the gates to another world. A player-led team of young warrior Torham Zed, barbarian Bane, sorceress Sarah and beautiful priestess Het Farvil is the last hope in the world to stop the chaos when the demonic portal opens. The aim of the game is to find the four keys to the fortress hidden in the basement, to move on to another dimension and overcome the evil hidden there before it begins to take its harvest among the innocent and defenceless people.

Dungeon Master II allows you to immerse yourself again in the whirlpool of an incredible adventure, which, unlike the original, takes place not only in tight dungeons, but also on the ground. In the initial phase of the game, we travel through forests and swamps, visiting temples, villages and shops with food and utensils. This will allow you to gain the necessary experience and equipment after descending to the underworld. The game focuses on exploring and solving puzzles, which usually consist in finding the key to the door, which blocks the way to the next destination of our journey. Thanks to the clear design of the levels and the auto-map system we do not get lost and we always know in which direction to go.

Real-time battles with enemies and monsters you meet will not be missing in the game. Thanks to the experience gained in combat, we can improve the parameters of our heroes. The character development system is basically a duplication of proven "one" solutions. Although fun is not the easiest thing to make our protagonists specialists in their fields, we do not have to resort to artificial "leveling" - the experience gained during the game is enough to successfully face the final boss.

The game interface does not differ much from the one to which we are accustomed by our predecessor. The action is observed from the perspective of the first person. At the top of the screen you can see portraits, statistics and equipment of our characters. In the right corner we have traffic buttons and a map or a pop-up menu. The main part of the screen is, of course, the action screen, where we can watch the graphics, which are much better than the original. New in the second part of the game is music skillfully building the atmosphere of the game.
