Might and Magic V: Darkside of Xeen Description
Might and Magix V: Darkside of Xeen for PC is the fifth game in the New World Computing’s famous RPG series. The game is also the final chapter of Sheltem and Croak’s story.
The Plot
Darkside of Xeen is a direct sequel to the fourth Might and Magic game. After defeating the demonic Lord, advised by the King Burlock himself, we follow prince Roland to the dark side of the land of Xeen. There, we will witness the final confrontation of the two feuding guardians, whose conflict was the keynote of the series since its inception.
Mechanics
Might and Magic V: Darkside of Xeen for PC doesn’t introduce any new gameplay mechanics. The only new features are: a special notes system, possibility to choose the difficulty level, and a special inventory compartment for plot-related items. The game uses the modified engine of Might and Magic III, and has more cinematic cutscenes. The CD version also offers high quality dialogues.
Due to the fact that Darkside of Xeen continues the story of the previous game, we can import our heroes, along with their levels and items, from Clouds of Xeen.
Misc.
Everyone who owns Might and Magic IV and IV can combine them into a single, enormous world known as World of Xeen. Thanks to that, we can follow the story from the fourth game directly into the fifth one, because now they are a single game. World of Xeen offers new quests and areas, available only if the two games are combined. Additonally, if we finish both stories, we get a special, third ending.
