Forza Horizon Video Game Series
The open-world racing game series, which was born in 2012 as a spin-off of the series Forza Motorsport. Initially, it remained somewhat in the shadow of its older sister, but after a few years it came to the forefront and became one of the most important exclusive titles in Microsoft's catalog. Suffice it to say that Forza Horizon 5 broke the record for the number of players playing simultaneously on the day of release in the publisher's games (more than 4.5 million people). Hand in hand with the excellent sales go the very high ratings received in reviews by subsequent parts of the series. Overseeing the brand since its inception is the British studio Playground Games, in cooperation with the Turn 10 Studios team (authors of Forza Motorsport).
The success of the series is mainly determined by a combination of beautiful maps, making up for the relatively small size (compared, for example, to the competitive series The Crew) by being densely stuffed with various attractions, and a refined driving modelwhich is a very successful mediation between simulation and arcade game (you can adjust it to your own preferences). In each installment, we visit a different corner of the globe, which hosts the Horizon Festival - a celebration of cars and music, where racing (and a range of other activities) are embedded in a wide-ranging automotive event.
Subsequent games expand the palette of available activities. While the first Forza Horizon offered mainly races on asphalt and gravel (including special demonstration competitions, in which the player behind the wheel of a car faced, for example, an airplane or a train), they were quickly joined by such activities as cross-country rallies in the wilderness, story-driven missions (e.g. wilderness expeditions, cab courses) or obstacle courses constructed by the players themselves. Similarly, the range of available multiplayer features is expanding, making it increasingly similar to Forza Horizon to an MMO game. Open worlds are "populated" by dozens of users, who can join clubs or so-called convoys and take part in all kinds of cooperative competitions. Forza Horizon 4 has even introduced a local equivalent of battle royale mode (Eliminator).
The number - going into the hundreds - and variety of available vehicles is also growing.. In addition to all sorts of sports cars (older and newer), we get a growing variety of rally cars, off-roaders or trucks. There is also no shortage of classic racing cars (including pre-war) or cult models that do not evoke associations with high-performance driving (such as Citroen 2CV). Each machine can be modified - both mechanically and visually (in terms of both painting the body in fancy patterns and replacing bumpers or spoilers). Players can exchange paint jobs or tuning configurations, as well as sell cars to each other through the auction house.
First Forza Horizon, released in 2012, came to the Xbox 360 console and was set in the American state of Colorado. The sequel, relocated to the borderlands of France and Italy on the Mediterranean coast, went on sale two years later, already on the X360 and Xbox One (with the former version, developed by Sumo Digital studio, being drastically truncated). "Three" from 2016 took players to Australia and put them in the role of organizers of the Horizon Festival; it was the first installment to be released on PC as well. Released two years later Forza Horizon 4 was set in the United Kingdom, which changed weekly according to the rhythm of the cycle of the seasons. Fans had to wait a year longer for "five" than for previous installments - until 2021. - but this made the map of Mexico contained in it noticeably larger than previous (a FH4 was developed with updates with free content for more than an average length of time). This installment hit the Xbox Series X and S in addition to PC and XOne.

A sequel to the bestselling racing game that was a spin-off to the flagship series of racing games developed for Xbox consoles. The title was developed by the creators of the previous entry: Playground Games (Xbox One version) and by Sumo Digital (Xbox 360 version). The new installment takes place in Southern Europe where another Horizon festival takes place. The festival is filled with good music and variety of racing challenges. Similarly as its predecessor, the title offers a large, open world where hundreds of licensed cars await the player. Similarly as the first entry in the spin-off series, the game offers a driving model that is slightly simplified in comparison to Forza Motorsport – it focuses mostly on making the races impressively looking. For the first time in the series the developers implemented a dynamically changing weather system which adds some realism to the races. The developers also added the Drivatars system known from Forza Motorsport 5, enabling the virtual drivers to gain experience even if they don’t participate in the game.

A spin-off to the popular series of car simulation games Forza Motorsport. The title was developed by Playground Games in cooperation with the development teams from Turn 10 Studios and Microsoft Game Studios. The game takes place on the roads of Colorado State during the titular music festival. In contrast to the main installments of the series, the spin-off gives the player much greater freedom when it comes to the exploration of the world and selecting challenges to complete. During the game it is not only important to reach the finish line before the rivals, but to drive impressively as well. The player can select from around 300 models of vehicles of various classes (from sports cars through pick-ups to roadsters) that can be additionally tuned.
