Forza Horizon 3: The Blizzard Mountain

Forza Horizon 3: The Blizzard Mountain is the first major expansion for a racing game entitled Forza Horizon 3 for PC and XONE. The add-on was developed by Playground Games, a studio that oversees the entire series.

Mechanics

The gameplay of Forza Horizon 3: The Blizzard Mountain doesn’t deviate from the formula set by the core game. The players still participate in the Horizon festival that takes place in Australia and its goal is to choose the driving champion. Beside classical competition forms like racing and time challenges, the title features various, incredibly spectacular special tasks.

The DLC introduces a number of novelties. First and foremost: new locations — this time, the players can take part in competitions that that place on snow-covered tracks in high mountains, including a ski park and a frozen lake. The add-on also comes with three new game modes: Blizzard, Descent, and Hill Climb. We will also experience new type of weather—blizzards and sandstorms not only enrich competitions but also increase the difficulty level because of the limited visibility they cause.

The expansion implements seven new cars (Ford Focus RS RX GYMKHANA 9 edition, Ford F-100 Flareside Abatti Racing Trophy Truck, Lancia Stratos HF Group 4, Lancia Delta S4 Group B, Nissan Titan Warrior Concept, RJ Anderson #37 Polaris RZR-Rockstar Energy Pro 2, Subaru #199 WRX STI VT15r Rally Car) and one hidden vehicle. Moreover, all the rides can be equipped with winter tires which were designed with the harshest conditions in mind.

Technical aspects

Forza Horizon 3: The Blizzard Mountain for PC and XONE is powered by the vanilla game’s technology. The graphics present identically high quality although enriched with new visual effects connected to the aforementioned atmospheric phenomena. The DLC is a part of the season pass but is also available for purchase separately.
