A sandbox game that defies classification, developed by the independent Mojang AB studio. Minecraft has been developed with the intention of unleashing the creativity of players, who can freely change the game's virtual world made from voxels (cubic blocks). The gameplay concentrates on terrain transformations, building structures, crafting items, and creating your own adventures. The game consists of two modes: a classic one, which allows for unending experience, and survival, in which we have to prepare to fend off monster assaults at night. In addition to single player, Minecraft also offers online multiplayer. The game from Mojang AB is distinguished by its unique retro visuals.

A brutal, dynamic action game set in a fantasy world. It was developed by DrinkBox - a studio popular for such games as Mutant Blobs Attack or Guacamelee. The player assumes the role of a female warrior who realizes that she has lost her left arm. Traversing a land full of magic, fantasy civilizations and ancient ruins, the protagonist tries to discover the truth behind the mutilation. The game is played from the first person perspective and the player fights subsequent enemies mainly, making use of an unusual combat system based on gestures. A key part is played by chopping off extremities of enemies, which can be later assembled to the protagonist's body making her more effective in combat and granting access to new fighting techniques. The game stands out with a minimalistic interface and an original graphic style. The latter is filled with sharp lines and very bright colors.

Cube Creator 3D is a Minecraft-inpsired sandbox game developed by Big John Games for Nintendo 3DS. The game allows us to create our own kingdom in a randomly generated world. Cube Creator 3D has two primary game modes. In the Creative mode we explore the stereoscopic 3D fantasy world and modify it as we please. We use various tools and resources to do so. Survival mode, like its name suggests, focuses on survival. In it, we start empty handed and we have to find resources as soon as possible and use them to craft basic tools. We will need them to build shelters and create weapons, which we will definitely need to face the monsters living in the game's world. Like in many similar games, Cube Creator 3D's visuals are based on voxels.

N.E.R.O: Nothing Ever Remains Obscure

Developed by the debuting independent studio Storm in a Teacup, an unusual first-person adventure game, the visuals of which are strongly connected with the plot and mechanics. The action of N.E.R.O. takes place in a surreal world that is projected in a little boy’s mind. The uniqueness of the title comes from omnipresent bioluminescence – dark sceneries are lighted up by bright, phosphorescent objects that at the same time serve as a kind of road signs. Mechanically, to some extent the game resembles the cult Myst series and the core of the game is exploration and solving puzzles that use different aspects of light and time. With the progress, you gradually find out the purpose of the hero’s adventure and depending on your choices, which can emphasize such values as love and devotion, you reach one of a few alternative endings of the story.

Cult County is a survival horror adventure game in which events are shown from the first person perspective (FPP). The story takes place in a desert town in Texas, where the protagonist finds himself in search of a sister. He finds an atmosphere of fear and distrust caused by sinister cultists, and soon comes to fight for survival. The game combines a dramatic struggle with exploratory elements in locations with a partially open structure.

A colorful, cartoonish stationary first-person shooter developed by small Australian studio Nnnooo. The gameplay in Blast ’Em Bunnies focuses on eliminating waves of aggressive rabbits. During the game the player cannot move freely, being tied to a single firing position. Eight types of enemies can be found in the game; they differ from each other in terms of speed, toughness, and tactic, and becoming increasingly stronger with each wave. The main objective of the game is to eliminate the opponents before they get close enough to hurt the player. Four wacky weapons are used to exterminate the rabbits, including a carrot shotgun, a watermelon rifle, a turnip mortar, and a bean railgun. However, access to weapons and ammunition must be bought for in-game money earned in subsequent levels.

The fifth full-fledged installment in a series of classic turn-based jRPGs developed by Atlus for Nintendo's hand-held consoles. The action takes place in the mysterious land of Arcadia. It is inhabited by four races - the game features original interpretations of the typical fantasy races. In terms of gameplay mechanics, it is a first-person dungeon crawler. The player assembles a team of characters representing various classes. The party visits labyrinths, descends into subsequent dungeons filled with traps, enemies and puzzles. Solving them open the way further. The game offers a turn-based combat system. The characters can perform standard attacks, cast spells and use their special abilities. As usual, the player decides about the character development and teaches the party members new skills with the experience points earned as the game progresses progression.

Metroid Prime: Blast Ball

A multiplayer first-person perspective shooter. As Nintendo shuns extreme violence, the title does not feature brutal gameplay like the Doom or Call of Duty series. Instead, you play a futuristic football variation designed for two teams of three. The players control robots which shoot at a giant ball and by doing so, try to put it in the back of the opponent’s net. The thing is, you can be gunned down by the enemy, and the more damage the ball suffers, the smaller it gets, which significantly impedes controlling it towards the end of a match. Gameplay requires strict cooperation between the players, sometimes even sacrifice. The title features pleasant 3D graphics.

Metroid Prime: Federation Force

Similarly as previous titles from the Prime sub-series, Metroid Prime: Federation Force is a science-fiction first-person shooter. It was developed by Next Level Games and features only a stub of a plot. During the game the player assumes the role of a soldier of the Galactic Federation. Together with his companions, he fights against the Space Pirates while controlling mechs. The basic campaign mode was designed with cooperation mode for up to four players in mind. Despite the fact that the game focuses purely on action elements, the developers added a bit of tactical depth – before each fight the player can select the equipment of his mech. The game also contains multiplayer modes based on competition between players, including a special mode called Blast Ball, which is a futuristic variation of soccer for two three-person teams.

A classic dungeon crawler with a turn-based combat system, developed for the 3DS portable console. The game is the second (after Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth) spin-off of the popular series of Japanese role-playing games developed by Atlus. The protagonists of Persona Q2 are the cast of Persona 5 from 2016. The game utilizes gameplay mechanics and principles of the Etrian Odyssey series. It is a typical dungeon crawler in which the player is traveling through a series of dark labyrinths while observing the action from a first-person perspective. The player’s party can consist of up to five characters, each of which has unique skills and attacks, taken from the main entries in the Persona series. The battles are conducted in a turn-based system, on a separate screen. The game features one of the characteristic options of the Etrian Odyssey series – the possibility for the player to manually draw maps and dungeons to explore.
