The game was developed by Russian studio Nival Interactive, also known for Rage of Mages, Silent Storm, and the fifth installment in the cult Heroes of Might & Magic series. In contrast to its predecessors, Blitzkrieg 3 focuses mainly on multiplayer gameplay and is available as a free-to-play game with microtransactions.
