On this page of the guide to Football Manager 2022 you'll learn how to loan players and why this option is sometimes worth your attention.
Football Manager 2022 allows you to loan players from other clubs, letting them temporarily play for your team while still belonging to the club that loaned them to you. Loaning players is useful if your club is small and doesn't have much of a transfer budget in order to strengthen your squad and climb higher in the rankings.
Upsides of loaning players
- Loaning allows you to temporarily obtain excellent players you wouldn't normally be able to permanently hire due to lack of funds;
- You can loan out a player to replace in injured player if you don't have anyone else to do the job;
- By maintaining good relations with loaned players you may end up signing a favorable contract in the future and obtain them permanently;
- Young loaned players, if you give them a chance to play, quickly increase their skills and can help your team to advance to a better league.
Searching for loanable players
Finding loanable players in FM 22 is very simple. Just enter the Scouting tab, then filter through the search results - select the option marked in the picture above.
What's more, you can always ask your employees to suggest loanable players who fit the position you choose. You can do so in the Transfer window after selecting the Transfer Targets option.
Making an offer
Once you find the player you want to loan out you must enter his profile, then expand the Transfer menu and select Make An Offer.
After entering the Loan Offer tab you can adjust all available clauses in the potential contract as well as add some new ones. Remember that both the club and the player will be more likely to accept the offer if you let him play in the starting squad or make him a key player in the team. The position also matters, for example, strikers may not be willing to play in the defense.
If you want to sign a permanent contract with the player you're loaning out later on, you can try to loan-to-buy option.
Make sure you can always keep the promises you're offering. Otherwise the club and the player won't be happy.
