Radiant Hazard
Radiation is extremely deadly to all players. Staying too long in that area will lead to death. The end of the map is marked red - this area is filled with deadly radiation. Radian Hazard is permanent which means that it won't disappear unlike the timed anomalies.
Timed anomalies
Below you can find the list of recurring weather anomalies in Fear the Wolves. The majority of them has a rather huge impact on the gameplay - you should learn how to act when you encounter them.
Wind
Wind reduces movement speed of your character and it has a negative impact on accuracy when you are shooting from a longer distance. Wind doesn't affect visibility - you don't have to worry that you can miss an enemy who is a few meters away from you. The red icons displayed right above your bar inform you about the Wind's presence.
How to act during Wind?
Due to lowered movement speed, your character will need more time to leave the area with this anomaly. Try to find a vehicle and use it to leave the area - Wind won't affect your car. Also, Wind reduces accuracy when you are shooting from a distance which means that you will have to get closer to an enemy. Try to sneak up on them and then shoot from about 40 meters away from your target.
Heat
Heat reduces the efficiency of your medicaments and food which means that you won't be able to use their full healing potential. Also, Heat shortens the time during which you can aim while holding your breath.
How to act during Heat?
Remember that Heat has an impact on drugs, food and medicaments. Use your supplies when you get outside of the area affect by this anomaly.
Fog
Fog reduces your visibility significantly which means that you will have harder time noticing enemies. Moving around this area is also difficult. Driving a car in Fog can lead to a car accident that will cost health points.
How to act during Fog?
Due to decreased visibility, you will have to walk very slowly - you don't want to encounter an enemy. This is especially important when you know that someone is near you. You can improve your aiming by using a laser scope.
Rain
Rain reduces traction of all vehicles. However, your character won't feel any negative effects while walking. Raindrops have a slight impact on visibility so be very careful - you don't want to miss an enemy hiding between trees.
How to act during Rain?
Don't drive when you are in an area that has Rain anomaly. It makes driving very difficult - hitting an obstacle can cost health points. Try to travel on foot and be vigilant.
Storm
Storm makes your character move slower than usual. Also, this anomaly reduces traction of the vehicles. Visibility is hindered, too - you need to strain your eyes to notice someone. Shooting from a distance is affected by the wind.
How to act during Storm?
Storm is a combination of a few weather anomalies into one that is even more problematic. Don't drive any vehicles to avoid receiving damage from hitting an obstacle. Visibility and aiming are also worsened - you need to be close to your target if you want your shots to be accurate. Wind makes sniper rifles useless - don't waste your ammo by shooting from far away.
Adrenaline Infection
You can recognize this anomaly by red dots that appear on your screen. Adrenaline Infection keeps dealing damage to your character until you are dead or you leave this area. However, there are ways of protecting your character from receiving damage.
How to act during Adrenaline Infection?
Players have to keep running in areas with this anomaly (marked with red net on the map). Adrenaline Infection heralds the imminent appearance of the deadly radiation on this area. The game will inform you that you have 60 seconds left. Usually, this is enough time to leave this part of the map. An oxygen tank makes you invulnerable to Adrenaline Infection's negative effects for a limited period of time - thanks to that your character will have more time to leave this dangerous zone.
Impact of weather anomalies on gameplay
The weather anomalies in Fear the Wolves play a huge role because they control players' behavior to some extent. Sometimes you can, e.g. be forced to abandon your searches for additional equipment and medicaments in order to leave your current location. At the end of a match there will be only a few spots on the map that are free from the anomalies. This forces the players to move to these safe areas.
Weather anomalies herald the imminent appearance of the radiation
Weather anomalies are the first step in having deadly radiation on a given area. After receiving information that you are in a danger zone, the current anomaly will soon turn into Adrenaline Infection. After that this area will become a dead zone. Keep that in mind during your exploration.
