Street Fighter 6 is a game intended mainly for fans of the fighting game genre. However, this doesn't mean that it can't be generally good and deserves a place among the best productions of this year, especially since the developers this time made sure that it was very accessible for beginners and solid content for veterans. The impression of poor content and pervasive technical problems that were present at the premiere of the fifth part, has completely disappeared here.
Street Fighter 6 provides lots of satisfying fun, both in single mode and during multiplayer fights, thanks to a completely reworked network code. The list of available fighters with eighteen characters is also impressive and allows you to choose your favorite one, including many known from the old classic installments of the series. It's gratifying to see that Capcom has learned its lesson and improved everything that was lacking before, delivering one of the best fighting games this year.
I am pleased to inform you that Capcom has managed to find the golden mean sought by the entire fighting game genre. The developers of Street Fighter 6 have created a game equally appealing to veterans dreaming of conquering the world rankings, as well as to novices discouraged by the high entry barrier, who only want solid single-player content and possibly a title for pleasantly spending a few moments with friends at the console.
The mere existence of a large story mode full of fanservice, bringing a lot of freshness to the combat system and a contemporary control scheme, decent refinement of key aspects of the game and a distinct visual style added up to a fighting game that delighted me and provided many hours of great entertainment – and yet this is just the beginning because the real fun begins when the servers fill up with thousands of fighters. Capcom slayed. Again.
