Gods & Monsters is one of the games that didn't generate much interest with the announcement of a new franchise. This doesn't say anything about quality, though. It's being developed by the creators of Assassin's Creed Odyssey, once again turning to the world of Greek mythology for inspiration, and the graphics are sort of similar to Legend of Zela: Breath of Wild. The overall concept of a role-playing game narrated by Homer himself, giving the account to his grandchildren, who fire up a barrage of questions like children do.

We can be sure there will be humor, but what else? We will be a hero trying to save the Greek gods. So we get spectacular combat, original, mythical creatures, and fantastic powers. Enemies will come with a set of weak spots. Major publishers have rarely given new IPs a chance recently, so God & Monsters' merit is also simply the fact that the game bucks that sad trend. Maybe something really interesting comes out of this?

It's for you if:

  1. you like Greek mythology;
  2. you're bored with recycled iterations of the same games, and you're curious to learn about new ideas from major publishers.
