We spared you another dose of Cyberpunk 2077, yet we couldn't help but mention another Polish game set in cyberpunk climates – Gamedec. This is a highly ambitious isometric RPG created by Anshar and based on two books: Gamedec The Edge of Reality and Gamedec: A Locomotive Salesman by Marcin Przybylek. The writer also serves as a consultant for the game's development. Don’t forget to read also our preview of Gamedec.
A MESSAGE FROM DEVELOPERS
We're perfectly aware that 99% of games with skill trees or dialogue options advertise themselves as a "true RPG experience", but with Gamedec it's a real deal. Every case was played as a Pen & Paper RPG session within our core team so the outcomes might be surprising even for hardcore RPG veterans. Decisions made at the start of the case might impact the result of the case. You're shaping your story, and you are the sum of your choices. There are no right or wrong solutions, just morally challenging.
Mateusz Greloch, Anshar Studios Inc.
In Gamedec, we'll land in Warsaw of the 22nd century The inhabitants of the city spend most of their free time in virtual worlds (inspired, for example, by Cthulhu mythology or free mobile games). They have become a desired escape for many individuals, but they have not really made all the problems disappear, as these digital realities are exploited by others for nefarious purposes, such as slave labor or fraud. Players will then become a private investigator who specializes in solving such cases. By visiting different virtual worlds, we'll undertake tasks that will often require making difficult choices. These will naturally influence the story, characters, and the world of the game. The creators point out that the truth we discover can turn out to be extremely dark – it will only be up to us how we use the knowledge. Gamedec also has a character development system.
