Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood Description
Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood is an action RPG licensed on White Wolf Publishing tabletop adventure game. The game was developed by Cyanide studio, known for such games as Styx, Pro Cycling Manager or Blood Bowl.
Plot
Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood is set in modern times, in a dark, alternative version of our reality, inhabited by creatures from various legends and myths. Players take on the role of Cahal, a werewolf who returns from exile to aid the clan, threatened with extinction. Along with a pack of companions, the protagonist takes part in a war against the powerful Endron Corporation, which serves a destructive entity known as the Wyrm, and whose actions upset the balance of nature. However, the hero must be on the guard, lest his anger take control of him, which has already brought him to the edge once.
Mechanics
In Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood, action is shown from third person perspective (TPP). The driving force of the game are quests, during which the player will encounter resistance from numerous enemies. Cahal deals with the problems it encounters in different ways, taking one of three forms. As a human, the protagonist talks to other humans; as a wolf, gains powerful stealth skills, and as a crinos, a more powerful werewolf, becomes nigh invincible. However, in the latter form, the character is driven by anger, which gives tremendous strength but is also the greatest weakness.
Technical aspects
Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood has graphics of a decent quality, held in a gloomy style.
Additional info
The game belongs to The World of Darkness universe. This famous setting is constituted by numerous other systems, that assume humans becoming all kinds of creatures. The brand has served as inspiration for a few developers in the past, resulting in games like recent Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines, Vampire The Masquerade: Redemption, Hunter: The Reckoning, and Hunter: The Reckoning Redeemer.
