Scouts are often called snipers, because that is basically their role on the battlefield. Enemies often die before they notice they are aimed at. This class requires a lot of patience and skill if you wish to play traditionally, far from the main action. You can also play more aggressively, fighting alongside the Medics and Assault soldiers. It is really effective, but it requires many hours of experience.
Gadgets
There are two types of Flare guns. One of them discovers positions of enemies and shows them on the minimap, while the other blinds the enemies. Moreover, the flares burn and can deal some damage to the enemy.
K bullets can pierce through thick armor. They can be loaded into your sniper rifle instead of regular rounds. You only get 5 of these, so use them with caution. They are more effective than you would expect, but do not use them if you're alone against a tank. They are, however, really effective if someone is already shooting at a tank. It such a situation, you can help your ally destroy it or even make the final hit.
Spotting scope - a device that lets you see over an obstacle without the risk of getting hit. It is a great gadget, but remember that it can easily be spotted, even from a distance.
Sniper shield - an iron shield that you can place on the ground and hide behind. Be careful, it only protects you when you are lying on the ground.
Sniper decoy - a decoy that looks like a head of a sniper. If you place it right, it will make the enemy shoot it and compromise his position. Remember that the enemy will expect you, so hide far from the decoy.
Tripwire bomb is activated when an enemy stands on a wire. The best use of these bombs is placing them at the entrance to a building you are hiding in. Stairs and corners can work as well. There are three types of a tripwire bomb - gas, explosive, and incendiary.
Tips
Sniper rifles can be zeroed, which means you can set your shot distance. The round is shot a bit higher than you aim. Assessing the distance might be problematic, so use key points to help yourself. When you aim at a flag or another key point on the map, the interface will show the distance. Obviously, you can skip the zeroing and shoot higher. In the beginning it can be difficult, but after some time you will get used to it.
Sniper rifles are most effective at a long range. Stay at a distance from the enemies, around 50-100 meters, because other classes' weapons are ineffective at such a distance, and if you get farther, it might be hard to hit an enemy.
Equip a pistol with a high rate of fire. When you get close to the battlefield, use the sidearm instead of a sniper rifle, and use a knife or a bayonet as a melee weapon.
