How to fight using a tank? Battlefield 1 Guide

Fighting other tanks

If two tanks are facing each other directly and begin shooting one another, the one which fires the first shot will always win. However, on the battlefield nothing is ever that easy. The damage a tank inflicts is affected by the location and the angle of the shot. Tanks also have their strong and weak spots.

Weak spots are:

  • Tracks - two precise shots to the tracks will immobilize the vehicle,
  • The turret in a light tank - two accurate shots will immobilize the turret,
  • The engine - shots to the engine are the most damaging.

If a tank is facing you with its front, aim for the tracks. If, however, the distance is too great, do not risk not hitting him at all. Simply fire shots directly into his front armour.

If a tank is facing you with its side, focus on hitting him under a right angle. In spite of appearances, this will make a huge difference, as four hits under a 90 degree angle will be enough to destroy a tank, while in other cases you will need a total of five shots.

When you are fighting a tank which has its back facing you, try to aim for the engine. If the distance is large, hit him anywhere. It is better to inflict some damage, than to miss entirely.

You yourself have to position the tank under a 45 degree angle to your enemy. This will never be perfect of course, but each change will decrease the incoming damage. If the enemy fires under a very sharp angle, the shell will not penetrate the armour, but ricochet off of it.

Fighting infantry

Infantry seems to be of little danger to mighty machines such as tanks, but if you stray too far, in a split second you will have several anti-tank grenades thrown your way, making your vehicle explode and your crew die - How to fight using a tank? - Grenades, Tanks and Planes - Battlefield 1 Game Guide

Infantry seems to be of little danger to mighty machines such as tanks, but if you stray too far, in a split second you will have several anti-tank grenades thrown your way, making your vehicle explode and your crew die. It is very important, that you are not overly aggressive. Do not enter a town or a village, if your allies have not taken the buildings. Similar rules apply to trenches. If the situation starts getting too dangerous, simply pull back, hide and use auto-repair.

To eliminate infantry use the case cannon. Do not waste HE rounds, as you will be in trouble if an enemy tank shows up. Use them only if necessary and always leave at least two charges.
