Marking the enemies

If you see the enemy, aim at him and press the mark button (if you don't know which one is it, open the chapter of the guide titled "controls"). This will make him visible on the minimap and thanks to that a red icon that your whole team can see will appear above him. It is especially helpful for snipers who might not see everything immediately. In addition to that, you can read the class of your enemy from the symbol.

Minimap

The minimap can provide you with very useful information related to the battlefield. Most of all, you can see enemies marked by someone from your team on it - including infantry, vehicles and planes. In addition to that, you can see the position of all allies and the points on the map. Use it frequently. Don't forget about using the option to zoom in and zoom out the map and the option to show the map of the whole battlefield.

Request revive

In Battlefield 1 the medics have equipment that allows them to revive fallen allies. If you want one of them to notice your body and start reviving you, after dying you must request revival. In order to do it, press the button that will appear in the bottom right corner. Above your body an icon that all medics can notice will appear.

Squads

At the beginning of each match you must select team. If you're playing with your friends, join their squad. If you're playing alone, join the team which has more players. Thanks to that you will receive more points for example for team assists, team revivals etc. In addition to that, the leader can mark one target, for example a flag or a transmitter. For trying to get them the team members will receive more points. If you are the leader and you want to mark a target, aim at the icon with the letter that marks the target and press the button responsible for marking and communicating.

Use the pistol

The World War I rifles aren't very accurate or powerful. Sometimes it might happen that you no longer will have ammunition in the clip. In that case, if you don't have where to hide, instead of waiting for reloading take out your pistol and try fighting with it. If you have programmable buttons on your mouse, set the pistol under one of them so that you can save some precious nanoseconds during the fight.

Melee combat

During a surprise encounter with the enemy on short distance, sometimes it is better to melee attack him instead of using a weapon. Such action has many advantages. You will receive more points for that, you won't waste ammunition, and what's more important, it is much quieter - the enemies won't discover your position.

Bayonet charge

If you're using a weapon with bayonet, you can perform a charge. For a few seconds your soldier will move much faster that normally. In order to activate the charge, during the sprint with the basic weapon equipped you must press the melee attack button. During the charge you can kill your opponent with a single stab. It is a very good and fast way to eliminate the enemies during direct confrontations. You can also use the temporary speed boost for example for escaping.

Avoid duels with the scout

The weapons of the assault, medic and support class are much less accurate that the rifles of the scout. Because of that, if you see a marked scout at distance longer than 50 meters, don't engage in fighting him because your chances for winning will be very small. In such situation you should try sneaking up on him and engaging him on shorter distance. You can also hide in a safe spot and wait for one of the snipers from your team to see him.

Gas masks

In Battlefield 1 the soldiers can use gas grenades. If you find yourself in a poisoned area, you will start losing health points. In that case you must wear a gas mask. The adequate button will appear in the bottom right corner of the screen. While you have a mask on, your sight is limited and you can only shoot from the hip.

Elite classes

The equipment of the elite classes that you can pick up is located in various locations on the maps. Such weaponry includes e.g. the flamethrower. Do not hesitate to use this gear whenever you have the chance, as the weaponry of these classes is superior to the standard sets.

Using horses

When riding a horse you become a target that is very difficult to hit, and you can eliminate foes easily by using your saber. Avoid shooting while you ride and pay even more attention to making sure that you constantly keep moving while using this class. Use your rifle only when forced to do so, you should be fighting with your melee weapon most of the time.

Avoiding fire

If you are set on fire lay down on the ground and the flames will go out after a moment. Assuming that you have all of your 100 health points, you will not die immediately. In such a situation ask for a first aid kit from your medic, as it will surely be useful.
