Rush | Game modes Battlefield 1 Guide

Last update: 01 February 2017

Rush is a mode in which there are pairs of Telegraph stations placed on the map, which the attacking team must destroy. This is a well-known mode amongst the fans of the previous installments of Battlefield and it has not changed in the newest edition of the series.

The attacking team has two targets, which have to be destroyed. To detonate a station, you must approach it and hold the interact button. After the explosive is set the defenders have a chance to defuse it. After two stations have been destroyed, new targets appear on the map. In total there are five pairs of stations.

The attackers have a limited amount of time (by default it is 10 minutes). At the beginning they also have 80 points, and they lose one each time a member of the attacking team dies. If they die 80 times in total, or if they run out of time, the defenders win. The time and the points are reset after a pair of Telegraph stations has been destroyed.

The Rush mode also features vehicles, but not in every stage of the attack.

Tips

Grenades are extremely useful in the Rush mode - Rush | Game modes - Game modes - Battlefield 1 Game Guide

Grenades are extremely useful in the Rush mode. You can use them to lay down a smoke screen, which will allow you to reach a station that is in an open, exposed area. If the target is located inside a building, it is best to throw in gas and frag grenades. As the defender, use incendiary grenades, which will make approaching or arming explosives on the station impossible for a few seconds.

While playing the Rush mode it is important to have a balance of classes on the battlefield. The distances can be quite large here, which is why many players choose the scout class, but the most important roles are the assault, medic and support classes.

Many maps are designed in such a way, that as the attacker it can be very easy to get behind the enemy and score a lot of kills, while also actively contributing to the destruction of a station. Try to look for side entrances to building and move around the flanks, as it is a very effective strategy. Be careful not to walk into a middle of a firefight and get shot in the back yourself. Make sure to thoroughly watch your back, despite it being difficult due to the fact that it is easy to lose your temper when standing in front of an entire enemy squad. If you find yourself in such a situation, first throw a grenade, and then eliminate enemies with your rifle. Be calm, and kill them one by one, make sure to conserve ammunition. If you can tell apart the enemy classes, aim for the medics first.

Tanks in the rush mode can sway the course of the battle - Rush | Game modes - Game modes - Battlefield 1 Game Guide

Tanks in the rush mode can sway the course of the battle. As the defender you should hide in a safe location, with vision on the Telegraph station. The enemies will simply walk into your crosshairs. Remember to consider the enemy tanks as priority targets, as they are by far the greatest danger.

The defenders are sometimes an overwhelming force, and the attacking team will not be able to do any real harm to them - Rush | Game modes - Game modes - Battlefield 1 Game Guide

The defenders are sometimes an overwhelming force, and the attacking team will not be able to do any real harm to them. The defenders will then often approach the very edge of the map. In such a situation you can try to take a vehicle or a horse and attempt to bypass the defenders on your own and get to the station. The main goal here is not to destroy the station entirely, as the chances to do that on your own are very slim, but arming the explosive alone will be a great success. A part of the defenders, oblivious to the fact that the danger is relatively small, will pull back, allowing your entire team to move forward, despite your eventual demise. It is worth using gas or smoke grenades in such situations, and using the bayonet charge to escape if need be.
