ACNH: Sea creatures - how to catch? Animal Crossing guide, tips
Last update: 12 November 2021
On this page of our guide to Animal Crossing New Horizons, we explain the best ways of catching sea creatures.
Catching sea creatures is not a particularly complicated task in Animal Crossing - it's not harder than fishing. As usual in the game, the most important thing is patience and a lot of time - if you have them, you will catch all the sea specimens in time, complete the Critterpedia and fill up Museum collection.
Why is it worth to catch marine creatures?
It's a perfect question - but the answer is obvious. Just as with insects or fish, we can donate them to a museum, and sell them in Nook's Cranny. Of course, this way you can complete a new page in Critterpedia - entirely devoted to marine wildlife.
How to catch sea creatures?
It's extremely simple. First of all, we have to jump into the sea. Sea creatures can't be caught from land - that's how we catch fish.
Once you're in the water, look for air bubbles rising from the sea floor. It's a sign that there's something worth checking. Swim close to this spot, then dive by using the Y button. The camera will slightly change perspective, and you have to look for a darker object. This object may move and then you have to chase it. After you enter this darker spot (you can speed up your swimming movements by tapping "A" button regularly), you will catch the creature. Your character will emerge from the water and present the prey.
And that's all you need to know.
