Types of rooms on ships of Void Bastards Void Bastards guide, tips

Last update: 13 June 2019

This page of the guide to Void Bastards contains a table with a list of the types of rooms on enemy ships. We inform you about the characteristics and applications of individual rooms and possible chances of finding unique loot.

Lets start with a few general tips and information - Types of rooms on ships of Void Bastards - Tables - Void Bastards Guide and Tips

Let's start with a few general tips and information:

  1. The game always displays a map of the ship after you have docked to it. You can open it after you start exploring (the game will be paused), even if the mini-map is not displayed in the corner of the screen.
  2. You can hover over abbreviated names of rooms (modules). The game will show basic information about each of them. The same applies to devices in the rooms. Move the cursor over the device icon to learn about its properties.
  3. Not all of the rooms listed in the table can be found immediately. Some of them appear only on ships visited later in the campaign, e.g. at subsequent levels of the Nebula Depth.

ROOM

DESCRIPTION AND ADDITIONAL NOTES

AIRLOCK

An airlock doesn't have a tag on the map. However, an airlock is very important, because after reaching it, you can leave the ship and complete the mission.

Note - On some ships, you have to reach another airlock to exit a ship (not the one where you started the mission). The game warns about this in the description of the location on the nebula map. You can also follow the airlock icon.

ATMO

This room has an oxygen station, with which you can replenish oxygen supplies. The oxygen bar is displayed at the top of the screen. If the countdown ends, the character begins to suffocate and lose HP due to lack of oxygen. An oxygen station stores a limited amount of oxygen, but you can "add" more of it to the station by using authorization on a terminal.

BREAK

Here, you will find a booth with coffee/tea. Interact with it to increase movement speed and inflict triple damage for a certain period of time. This is very convenient if there are strong opponents on board the ship. You can reduce the risk of losing a lot of health and save ammunition. Once the bonus stops working, you can return to the room and use the authorization to get another bonus.

BUZZ

Here you can launch objects into space (including enemies). In addition, a random loot can be found in this room, which guarantees an increased chance of getting Bushwhackers and VOLTS loot.

CUBES

You can only find random loot here. However, you get an increased chance of getting Staples and PLAZ loot.

DINE

You can only find random loot here. However, you get an increased chance of getting Food.

DOCK

You can only find random loot here. However, you get an increased chance of getting Rivets loot.

DRIER

There are big dryers in this room. If you enter them, you will gradually lose health. However, this can cause crafting parts to appear on the conveyor belts. You can control the dryers with the interactive levers. This room also contains random loot.

FILE

A machine for ordering food, fuel or ammunition is in the center of this room. By default, you can only order one delivery. However, you can use the authorization after placing the first order. Ordered things are not obtained immediately. A ship with supplies will approach your vessel after a few "turns".

FIX

This room contains several machines that improve Junk. You use them to convert lower quality Junk into those of better quality. Recycle higher quality junk after completing a mission to get more crafting materials. We advise you to first collect as much Junk in a location as possible and then visit the FIX room. It is worth noting that improving the quality of Junk is free.

FTL

In these rooms, you can always find at least 1 canister of Fuel. In addition, there can also be random loot.

GARB

This room has a machine that can process crafting materials into credits (Merits). These machines are very useful if you need credits, for example, to use authorization in one of the rooms.

GEN

It's a room with a generator. By default, this object is not particularly relevant. The exception is when you start a mission on a ship without electricity. When that happens, you need to get to the GEN room to restore power. Only then will it be possible to interact with other objects on the ship, including the exit airlock (you need to open it to complete a mission).

GENE

This is an important room - it has a machine that can add or remove Traits. The machine has three levers, and you can pull only one of them. Possible actions: add a new Trait, replace the current Trait with another, and delete a Trait (if it has a negative effect). Once you use the machine, you can pay for authorization to be able to use it again. The machine will draw new Traits. You again have the option to choose 1 out of the 3 actions.

HAB

This room has a station that removes negative statuses - radiation, oil and nausea. In addition, after buying the Bullet Hunter project, you will find here a large amount of pistol ammo.

HELM

This is a captain's helm which is a very important location. You should visit it shortly after starting the exploration of the ship. Here, you can download the map showing loot for free. From that moment on, loot is marked with starts on the ship's map - large stars are a unique loot (crafting parts). In addition, you can purchase a map adding enemies to the map. In most cases, you can skip this step.

HOLD

You can only find random loot here. However, you get an increased chance of getting Toaster Juice and Junk loot.

MART

There's a lot of loot in this room. In addition, you get an increased chance of getting Spikes and BIO loot.

NUC

You can only find random loot here. However, you get an increased chance of getting Clusterflaks loot.

PET

You can only find random loot here. However, you get an increased chance of getting Robokitties and DATA loot.

PROG

Only random loot is found in this room, which guarantees a better chance of encountering Scrambler Eggs loot.

SAN

This room only contains random loot.

SEC

This is an important security room. Thanks to visiting it you can temporarily or permanently disable local security systems, e.g. turrets, cameras and robots. Be careful as some of these security systems may be in the SEC room and as a result, you may be attacked by turrets or trigger an alarm.

SERV

You can only find random loot here. However, you get an increased chance of getting credits (Merits).

SPIN

This is a casino where apart from random loot you can also find slot machines. Each interaction with the machine costs a few credits - you will receive a random reward.

SUITE

This room only contains random loot. However, you have an increased chance of finding locked containers that can store random crafting parts.

TANKS

This room may contain canisters with Fuel. Unlike FTL rooms, canisters aren't in plain sight - they are stored in interactive containers. Besides that, you may also find random loot.

THEATRE

This is a very important room - it has a Med Booth that restores health points. Each station can only restore a limited number of HP. This means that a severely injured hero may not necessarily be completely healed. The good news is that you can perform authorization and replenish the "health reserve" at the station allowing further treatment.

TOMBS

You can only find random loot here. However, you get an increased chance of getting Bullets and Zap Charges loot.

TUBES

In this room, you can find a Torpedo Rack. Torpedoes are used to destroy Void Whales and pirate ships encountered while traveling the galaxy. Try to have at least one torpedo in stock.

WARD

You can only find random loot here. However, you get an increased chance of getting Rad Spikes loot.

WARP

Here, you can find Warp Keys, thanks to which you can travel long distances on the nebula map. This item allows you to reduce travel time and avoid possible threats in the form of mines, pirate ships or whales. After getting a Warp Key, you can run authorization to "generate" another key.
