- Pirates on the nebula map
- Variant 1 - Destroying a pirate ship
- Variant 2 - Running away from pirates
- Variant 3 - Confrontation with pirates
Pirates on the nebula map
Pirates start appearing on the map after you make enough progress in the game. The picture above shows an exemplary pirate ship. Pirates make their moves alternately with you. You don't have to worry that they will get close to your S.T.E.V. ship immediately.
Healing by resting is treated as an end of a turn. Even if you don't move your ship, the pirates will be able to make their jump.
Variant 1 - Destroying a pirate ship
This option is available only when you have torpedoes. You can check that in the STATUS window (see the picture above).
Torpedoes work automatically - you don't have to click anything. That ship will be attacked right after you both get on the same field. You will see a confirmation of the successful attack and information about random loot you got by eliminating pirates (2 units of food in the example presented above).
For more details, check How to get torpedoes? chapter.
Variant 2 - Running away from pirates
This method requires some planning. If the pirate ship is patrolling the upper part of the map, choose the locations at the bottom. Don't fly towards the enemy ship. Warp Keys are also useful here - thanks to them you can "teleport" to any place on the map.
Variant 3 - Confrontation with pirates
This method happens when you and the pirate ship are on the same field.
From now on, the enemy ship will follow you. Pirates will appear onboard the next explored ship. You may have some problems defeating pirates. Take the best weapons and gadgets with you or simply start running away when you notice them.
Besides pirates appearing as regular enemies, they can also cause other threats. One of them is Pirate Tether which prohibits you from finishing the mission at any point of the exploration. When that happens, search the entire ship to find the Tether (see the picture above) and interact with it. After that, you will unlock the passage to S.T.E.V. ship.
