Pop-tabs and money in This is the Police 2 This is the Police 2 Guide and Walkthrough

Last update: 13 August 2018

This Is The Police 2 has two types of currency: pop-tabs and regular money. Both currencies are used for different things. In this chapter we will focus on both of them.

Pop-tabs are the basic currency at the police station. You get them at the end of each day. Their amount depends on number of calls and ways of solving them. Catching or killing a suspect gives you pop-tabs. The same goes for tactical missions. Your number of pop-tabs received from tactical missions is usually equal to the amount that you receive from regular calls. Letting a suspect escape will cost you pop-tabs. The same goes for ignoring calls or tactical missions. Number of pop-tabs lost for ignored calls can be so big that you can end up with a negative balance.

Pop-tabs can be spent at the end of each day. You can purchase new police officers as well as additional equipment for your subordinates. The selection is randomized every day.

Money is a universal currency - you can spend it on various things. But first you will need to get them. You can do that by completing requests from your friends and by selling evidence collected during interventions. Lilly gives you $20,000 at the start of the game but this amount won't last for long.

The list of expenses is long which means that you will have to keep selling evidence. Your biggest problem is money for Frye. Starting from November 29th you will have to pay him $20,000 every Sunday. If you don't pay him, he will inform the FBI (game over). Also, your mole in the police station, provided that you agreed to get him, requires money, too. Otherwise, he will inform the headquarters about your agreement - this has a huge impact on loyalty of your officers. Money is also necessary if you want to buy items that can be "traded" for testimonies given be witnesses during tactical missions. Money is also useful in situations related to the police station, e.g. when your cook leaves. That situation will require you to spend money on meals. After a few days you will receive an offer - pay $12,000 for a catering.
