Character classes South Park: The Fractured But Whole Guide
Last update: 22 November 2017
This chapter includes information regarding all the character classes and indicated the moments in the game when they are unlocked. By the end of the game, the player can use all classes and freely choose all the available abilities.[/desc]
You select your character's class at the end of the Prologue. It is not a permanent decision, as you can change your character's class at any time (by talking to the Coon at his lair), and it does not result in any consequences. The class defines the abilities you use in combat. After starting the mission called Civil War, you get the access to another character class, from a larger range of available classes. Now, you can equip your character with abilities from both classes, and you can customize them using your phone. Below, you can find the list of all the available character classes along with the description of their abilities. The categories mentioned below determine when a given class can be unlocked - after each "Origins" mission numbered 1-4.
Speedster, a basic class, not very efficient. 1st Category.
- Quantum Fist - a strong attack that reaches the enemy standing two squares away from the New Kid.
- Double-Edge - gives you another turn (at the cost of a consecutive one).
- Supersonic Dash - a relatively strong attack: you appear behind the enemy and push him next to the square you were standing on before. This is a tactical attack you perform to get the additional buddy attack.
- Hyperspace Fury - this attack deals significant damage to the opponent standing next to you and pushes him away.
Brutalist, a basic class. Initially, it is good for small fights and 1 on 1 dogfights. Later on, it becomes one of the worst classes. 1st Category.
- Brutal Bash - a strong attack against the enemy standing next to you. It also pushes the opponent away.
- Wrecking Ball - a strong attack against an opponent standing three squares away and push him back.
- Gastro Smash - hit, push back, and put the grossed out effect on the opponents standing on the adjacent squares.
- Full-Force Fisting - one of the strongest attacks against a single opponent with no additional effects.
Blaster, a basic class. Strong, however not effective in a tactical approach. 1st Category.
- Triple Burn - a strong ranged attack, which burns the enemy.
- Heat Wave - hit and push back up to three enemies standing vertically in front of the New Kid.
- Plasma Beam - hurt the enemies standing in a row (moderate damage).
- Backfire Blast - burns the enemies and grosses them out. Useful when fighting resistant opponents, however, it does not deal much damage.
Elementalist. One of the best classes, especially in 1vs1 dogfights. 2nd Category.
- Sand Trap - it deals moderate damage to the enemies in front of you or crosswise - this is a useful ability.
- Ice Prison - deal moderate damage and force him to skip the next turn (wait for one turn to use this ability again).
- Hydro Helper - this ability heals the main protagonist or his ally maximum 2 squares away. Most importantly, this ability removes all negative effects and improved the attack of the affected unit.
- Elemental Onslaught - deals little damage, however, it both freezes and electrifies enemies on a large area, thus they skip one turn and suffer more damage due to electrification.
Cyborg, a relatively balanced character class. 2nd Category.
- Fatal Attraction - pull up to three enemies in a straight line towards you and deal them minor damage.
- Ganz Technique - create an impenetrable shield until the next turn. This ability has a 1-turn-long cooldown.
- Faraday Uncaged - deal moderate damage to the opponent standing in front of you, push him back, and electrocute him/her.
- The Big Guns - this ability deals major damage to the opponents standing in a straight line (max. 3 squares away from your character).
Psychic. This is a rather supportive class. Each ability can be used with little mobility. 2nd Category.
- Psi-Shield - create a powerful protective shield over your character or an ally standing max. 3 squares away.
- Dazzling Flash - deal moderate damage to an opponent maximum 4 square away and confuse him to attack the nearest character. Wait for 2 turns before you use this ability again.
- Cerebral Blast - a moderate attack in the shape of the letter "X" and works on a large area. Additionally, it decreases the defense of the targeted opponents.
- Chakra Cleanse - one of the strongest techniques available in the game - it heals the nearby allies and provides them with a strong shield, nonetheless, it does not eliminate any negative effects.
Assassin. A strong class, however, now effective in a tactical approach. It is useful when your character has little health and you need to protect him. 3rd Category.
- Quick Cut - a strong attack, which also causes bleeding.
- Spin Slash - deals moderate damage to many opponents in the rectangular grid and inflicts bleeding upon them. Thanks to the large area it works on, this is an effective attack.
- Shadow Swap - deals significant damage and swap places with an opponent standing on the adjacent square. After that, you gain invisibility. You cannot use this ability two turns in a row.
- Deadly Dive - a very strong attack against one unit standing max. 3 squares away. The New Kid gets invisibility, while the targeted opponent gets the bleeding effect.
Gadgeteer. A support class, actually one of the weakest in the game. 3rd Category.
- Boom-Boom Buddy - set a trap that will blow up on the next turn of if destroyed dealing moderate damage to the opponents surrounding it.
- Straight Shooter - set up a turret once every three turns, which attacks all the enemies standing in the same row. The turret has its first turn right after setting up, then it takes its place in the queue along with other characters.
- Gigavolt Globe - hurt up to four enemies with a moderate attack dealing additional electrocution.
- Hyperspace Fury - one of the best attacks in the game. It deals major damage on a 3x3 grid.
Plantmancer. This is definitely one of the strongest classes. Not very efficient when fighting bosses, unless the New Kid serves as a support. 4th Category.
- Purifying Petals - the strongest healing technique available in the game. It heals both New Kid and his allies standing max. 3 squares away, removes all negative effects and increases attack stats. It has a 3-turn-long cooldown.
- Sweet Scent - pulls an opponent standing even 4 squares away, deals significant damage, and charms him to fight for you for the next 2 turns.
- Root Burst - deals minor damage, however, it causes bleeding and pushes back the enemies standing on the 3x5 grid around the New Kid.
- Nature's Gift - this ability works in a similar way to the Macaroni Picture, as it heals the allies on the battlefield and revives the fallen ones (apart from Mysterion in the form of a ghost). Unfortunately, the amount of restored health is relatively small.
Martial Artist. One of the strongest classes in the game with well-balanced combat skills. 4th Category.
- Dragon Force Punch - a very strong punch that pushes the enemy back. It has a 1-turn cooldown.
- Dragon Reversal - deal significant damage to all the enemies around you.
- Dragon Reversal - deals much damage, pushes back, slows down and decreases the defense of an enemy standing 3 squares away.
- Dragon Swagger - this ability is quite interesting, as it provides with the main protagonist with a powerful shield and causes fury among all the enemies in the arena. You can use this shield to protect other characters from dangerous enemy attacks.
