This page of the guide to Poppy Playtime contains a walkthrough of part 1 of Chapter 1 in the game. You will learn how to get the blue hand. You'll use it to solve many puzzles.
Green tape
When the game starts, you will go to the reception. There you will find the first tape - it's on the desk next to the computer. This is purely optional, you don't need to complete this task.
However, if you want to learn more about the factory, there is a VCR right next to it, which you can use to play the tape. If you want to hear the story, you have to wait in this room. As soon as you come out of it, the voice will fade away - you will not hear anything.
1st puzzle
You have to enter the security room. The blue hand you need is inside. Without it, you won't open the door or go any further.
The room is locked with a special code, though.
The code for the door are correct colors that you will find on the toy in the next room. Go to the room opposite the security room. There are some tracks hanging from the ceiling that have a toy train riding on them. Pay attention to the colors of the toy.
The correct code to the entrance is:
- green,
- pink,
- yellow,
- red.
When you click the colors in the correct order, the door will open.
Blue tape
In the security office, take a look at the counter on the left side of the room. There is a blue tape right next to the keyboard.
On the right side of the desk there is a VCR that you can use to play the tape. After listening to the story, you will be given the blue hand that you need to complete all the puzzles in the game.
Get the blue hand out of the shaft. Make sure to use the appropriate key to move items that are blocking your way to the hand (E for the PC version).

Key
Time to move on. There is a small passage behind the reception, which leads to the next room. Go there to get to the next part of the factory.
To enter the hall, you need to open the door. Use the blue hand to touch a special point to do so. It is marked with a blue hand icon. Use the hand and hold it there for a moment. Only when the mechanism is fully charged will the door open.
In the middle of the hall, you will see the main monster for the first time in this chapter. Huggy is just standing in the middle of the room, he won't do anything to you, even if you hit him or throw things at him.
You're not supposed to upset the monster, though, but rather get the key. To do this, you have to hit the icon on the left wall with the blue hand. The door will not open, only a small short circuit will occur, miraculously summoning the key to the plushie's hand.
Huggy still isn't dangerous. He smiles sweetly, holding the key in his right hand. Reach out your hand and gently take the item you need.
Restoring power
Now that you have the key, it's time to go to the room marked "Power". Go to the very end of the hallway. Open the door by pressing the E key. It is not enough to push them, although the player's sense suggests it throughout the game.
Go to the very end of the room until you see a plate that you can open. It will have a red handle that you can grab. You will also see many handprints next to it. The only option to open it is to rip the plate out.
Now you have to turn on the power. The blue hand will come in handy again. Grab the nest and don't let it go no matter what.
Walk across the room, hook the "arm" around the two energy transfer poles. This way you will connect power to the door you are about to get through.
Next room
Time to go back to the room where you got the key. You will quickly notice that Huggy is gone. He has moved somewhere else to watch you. You don't have to worry about him, he won't attack you at this point yet.
