Poppy Playtime Description
Poppy Playtime is an episodic survival horror witch puzzle elements. It was developed by the independent studio MOB Games.
Plot
The action of Poppy Playtime takes place in abandoned toy factory of Playtime Co. Years ago, the entire crew working there disappeared without a trace, and now the character we play goes there to find out the truth about this place.
Mechanics
In Poppy Playtime we observe the action from the first person perspective (FPP). The game is divided into chapters, each of which was made available as a paid episode. Game gives us so called GrabPack, which is a special backpack equipped with two artificial hands on steel wires. We need this tool to solve puzzles. With its help we can move heavy objects or manipulate switches located far from us; moreover, the steel wire conducts electricity, so it can be used to power abandoned devices.
As we make our way through the facility, we have to be on guard because something very bad has happened to the toys produced here, which makes our investigation quickly turn into a real fight for survival.
Technical aspects
The locations we explore in Poppy Playtime are covered in darkness, and the gloomy atmosphere is enhanced by the background music. Colourful elements of the environment and the blue and red hand of GrabPack contrast with all this.
