Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 is out (at least on PC), so you can learn more about Playtime Co. dark secrets. Of course, you will meet new entities. One of them is Doey the Doughman, who has perhaps the most tragic story in the game. So, who is this creature and why he deserves better?

Who is Doey the Doughman in Poppy Playtime Chapter 4?

Warning! This article contains spoilers from Poppy Playtime Chapter 4. You read it at your own risk.

Doey the Doughman is a unique entity. He can change shapes freely. Additionally, he was created from three children. Each of them had a different character, which is mirrored in Doey’s multiple personalities. This combination is really dangerous.

Experiment 1322C

Matthew Hallard (aka Experiment 1322C) was an orphan from the Playcare. He was the first boy formed into Doey. From the report that can be found in the game, it can be learnt that he was a “dream child”. He was very kind and charismatic. Through his traumatic past, he also developed a strong sense of responsibility for others. This combination of personality traits made him a perfect leader.

Experiment 1322B

Kevin Barnes (aka Experiment 1322B) was also one of the orphans from the Playcare. The first time we can hear about him is in Chapter 3. He is mentioned in VHS tape called 1322 Report: Void. He has excellent physical skills. However, at the same time, he often fights with other children.

Experiment 1322B is the aggressive part of Doey the Doughman. When he takes control, the entity starts to be really dangerous. He even killed Experiment 1322A parents, believing that they wanted to deceive him at the behest of Playtime CO.

Experiment 1322A

Jack Ayers (aka Experiment 1322A) was a child who visited Playtime Factory with his parents. During the trip, he strayed away from his family and fell into a giant mixer with an unidentified substance. We can see this story in the Doey the Doughman Commercial VHS.

After this accident Jack becomes part of Experiment 1322, as one of the three children melted into Doey the Doughman. He is the most innocent of the trio. His empathy allows to create the “heart” of the Experiment 1322.

Doey the Doughman’s fate in Poppy Playtime Chapter 4

Most of the time, Experiment 1322 is friendly towards others. All of his “parts” cooperated and calmed each other down. He is a positive character throughout the greater part of his life. He even created Safe Haven to protect other Experiments from hostiles like Prototype.

We visit Safe Haven during Poppy Playtime Chapter 4. Doey the Doughman is your ally (for most of the chapter). At the end of the story, his shelter is destroyed. This triggers all children’s traumas and in the moment of weakness and despair, Doey turns against the protagonist. In the end, he becomes one of the bosses that you must defeat. Not a fitting end to a noble (at least taking into consideration circumstances) and gentle creature.
