In Outward, your character will spend many nights in the wilderness. Sleep regenerates health and allows you to skip the night (useful when you don't want to travel in darkness). However, sleeping in the wilderness isn't the safest choice. Open the sleep menu (by using a bedroll or a tent) and check the percentage chance of getting attacked in sleep. You can reduce the chance of getting attacked by spending a few hours on guarding. However, there are places outside the towns where your character is safe. How to find them? Read this page to learn about these places.

There are plenty of places on the entire map where your character is safe during sleep (you get 0% chance of getting attacked while sleeping). These places are easy to find - butterflies will be flying nearby. If you don't want to waste time on guarding, look for butterflies and place your bedroll or tent there.
