The release day of Delta Force has come, but the launch is far from perfect. As gamers, we are (though we shouldn’t be) used to productions being released in a sorry state. In the case of this title, we can be a bit more lenient, as it uses a free-to-play model that doesn’t require any money up front to at least check it out. While many fans complain about the anticheat software implemented in this production or cheaters; others struggle with steady framerate and constant stutters, which are unacceptable in a game requiring fluidity and fast response times. Nowadays, performance issues are often masked by more and more powerful hardware. Sometimes, though, the developers go overboard with how much they put on our machines instead of trying to smooth it out by optimization. The lags seem to affect mostly AMD GPU owners. As mentioned by one of the developers from Team Jade in a comment on Steam, the solution for those is to install older version of drivers – either 24.10.1 or 24.8.1. Some people notice that it is a known problem regarding interaction between AMD graphics card drivers and Unreal Engine, which is running this game. It is also a good idea to use FSR, which can further improve the experience.
Let’s look on the bright side of life, though. At least those of us who don’t have almost infinite amounts of time, won’t be penalized for it, as the usual, seasonal wipes won’t be enforced in this title.
