Crusader Kings 3's Warcraft Mod Received New Version and Support for The Wandering Nobles DLC
A new version of the project Warcraft: Guardians of Azeroth 2, a modification that brings the game Crusader Kings 3 into the Blizzard studio's fantasy universe, has been released.
Crusader Kings III has a large modding community. We’re bringing it up because one of the most interesting fan projects for this game, the mod called Warcraft: Guardians of Azeroth 2 has just received a new version.
True to its title, the mod replaces the CK3’s Middle Ages with the fantasy universe created by Blizzard Entertainment. To accomplish this, the authors have reworked virtually all elements of the game. So we get an original map and new factions, characters, units, technologies, and events. Major changes were also made to the gameplay mechanics.
The latest version of the modification is numbered 0.5.3.5 and, in addition to bug fixes, brings, among other things, mechanics allowing isolation for the rulers of the lands of Uldum and Pandaria. 35 new characters have also been added, based on the ideas of players supporting the developers via Patreon. Most importantly, however, the update offers compatibility with the latest patch (1.14.0.2) for Crusader Kings 3 and The Wandering Nobles DLC,
The first version of Warcraft: Guardians of Azeroth 2 was released in March last, and the mod has been improving rapidly since then. In recent months, many new graphical elements have been added (especially those related to elves and orcs), magical corruption mechanisms have been introduced and the storyline related to Arthas has been improved.
The authors of Warcraft: Guardians of Azeroth 2 still have a lot of work ahead of them before the project is fully completed, but already at this stage it is impressive and can provide long hours of high-level fun. Much of this is because the authors did not start from scratch. The project was built on the foundations of the older modification Warcraft: Guardians of Azeroth for Crusader Kings II. It was developed for many years and, when starting to work on the sequel, the authors converted most of its elements to CK3.
