Plagues, Legends, and 11 Million Petted Cats and Dogs - Crusader Kings 3 Devs Sum up Four Years of the Game
Crusader Kings 3 players have spent hundreds of millions of hours in the game from Paradox Interactive, ruling their domains and petting their pets.
Players of Crusader Kings 3 spent over 225 million hours playing the game. Paradox Interactive has wrapped up the four-year history of the third installment of the "Crusade" series, thanking players for their journey with them and revealing a handful of statistics.
In addition to the total playtime, the publisher revealed the most popular starting regions – the most popular being Britannia – and the number of players who joined the fun in CK3 this year alone: over 1.5 million. We also learned about the favorite "legends" (whose stories players have completed nearly 2 million times), the most frequently achieved accomplishments, and the statistics of Discord and YouTube channels.
However, as is often the case, some of the statistics revealed by Paradox Interactive are somewhat unconventional. The virtual world of CK 3 was affected by the Black Death almost 23 thousand times, and close to 1.6 million of its residents died due to the pandemic. Additionally, players used the services of hairdressers over 39 million times.
Of course, the summary could not miss information about the number of… petted animals. Cats were slightly more popular than dogs, and in the last year, players have played with over 3 million pets. In total, over 4 years, more than 11 million animals were petted.
This is likely not the final summary of this kind. Crusader Kings 3: Roads to Power DLC will be released on September 24th on PC and will likely attract more players to CK 3, whether they are newcomers or veterans currently taking a break before the debut of the second large expansion. In it, we can experience the feeling of being Marco Polo or Roger de Flor, traveling through the medieval world without land or feudal obligations.
