Medieval Dynasty: Farm - how to farm the land? Medieval Dynasty guide, walkthrough
Last update: 30 October 2020
In this section of the Medieval Dynasty guide, you will learn all about farming. We present how to prepare the field for the harvest step-by-step. We suggest where to get the tools and the raw materials you'll need.
Running your own farm, and ultimately the entire village is one of the primary goals of the game. Remember to focus on small fields at first - the larger the field, the more financial investment is required. A big field also means a higher tax to pay in the spring. Consider that the seasons influence what type of plant you can use. Vegetables are usually planted in spring or summer, and grains in autumn or spring.

Tools and raw materials
You'll need a few things for your first field:
Wooden Hoe
Getting a wooden hoe is easy. You can craft it using the Q key.
You'll need one log and ten sticks to do it.
Bag
The bag is very useful and has a universal purpose - it is used both for sowing and fertilizing the field. It will probably take some time before you create the infrastructure to sew your own bags, so at the beginning, you can try to steal or buy them.
Both methods can be tried in the village of Gostovia. A bag sometimes lies on the table in front of one of the huts. You can buy it from Unigost for 200 coins.
You can also "borrow" a bag there.
Fertilizer
Over time, you will be able to produce fertilizer from the manure of farm animals. At first, the only option is to buy the fertilizer. You can find a vendor in every village. In nearby Gostovia, fertilizer can be bought from Sobiemir for 10 coins. If you're going to sow a bigger field, buy a larger supply of fertilizer.
Seeds
Seeds are another thing you need to buy for your first field. At first, you can find a woman named Adelina in Gostovia. She sells carrot and onion seeds. Seeds of other plants, including grains, can be found at vendors in other villages. Vegetables are a good option to start with, as they do not require tools for harvesting, and together with meat, they make a nutritious stew.
How do you create a field for crops?
Choose a flat ground with the right amount of space for the future field and stand next to it.
Select the crafting menu with the Q button and then the Buildings section.
Then select the Farming section.
The next step is a selecting the Field option.
Using the mouse, mark the top left corner of your field with a green stick.
When you're satisfied with the size of the field, press the left mouse button.
The field is now marked with the green sticks. Now the real work begins.
How to prepare a field for cultivation?
You'll need a wooden hoe, a bag, and fertilizer to prepare the field. Make sure you have them in your equipment.
Set the wooden hoe as the main tool. Use it in the not grubbed up field area.
The plowed field will turn into sandy terrain. Repeat this on each square of the field. Then change the hoe to a bag.
After setting the bag as the main tool, like with the hammer, right-click to select the bag modes. Choose the fertilizer.
Using the left mouse button on the field with the bag as the main tool will spread the fertilizer. One serving of fertilizer is enough for one square of the field, so you should have a larger supply if the field is bigger.
The Fertilized field is ready for further work. You need to change the bag to a hoe again.
Use it on the field.
Now the Plowed field is ready for cultivation.
Sowing the field
Again, you have to change the hoe to a bag. Press the right mouse button to go to the mode selection.
From the choice menu, select the right seeds. If a plant can't be sown at this time of year, its symbol will be crossed out, even if you have that seed in your equipment.
Use a bag of seeds in the field. It will be covered with dots. That's it - just wait for summer to harvest!
