Chapter 13 - part 1 K&L: DM Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Detailed mission walkthrough:
New objective: Proceed To Clearing
Despite what you might think, you won't have to stay in the shadows, because you'll be following allied units. You can go past them if you want to, because you won't have to wait for them to get to a small encampment. Head on straight and then turn left. Approach one of the rebel soldiers (screen). Wait for a short cut-scene to be displayed on your screen.
New objective: Get To The Hacienda Without Setting Off Flares
As you've probably noticed, you have been rewarded with a few rebel units. Just as before, you won't be allowed to issue them orders directly. Instead, they will follow your team members. Thankfully, you won't receive any penalties for letting them die. There's only one passageway leading to the hacienda (screen), so you can't get lost. You won't have to be moving slowly here, because the game will prevent you from falling down.
Keep heading forward. Look at my screen - that's where you should make a stop. Get ready to attack the first group of enemy soldiers. This battle is going to be quite challenging, mostly because enemy units will use better guns against you. Wait for an entire team to get here. It's important, because you'll need their help to succeed.
Try making a few steps forward. You'll probably notice that enemy soldiers have left the bushes. You will have to act quickly here in order to prevent one of the soldiers from using a flare gun. A small window will appear on your screen. This time it won't mean you've been targeted by a sniper. Instead, it'll show you the exact location of your main target. You will have to kill this guard in order to ensure your victory.
The soldier with a flare gun will start running towards a smaller hill (screen). Obviously you will have to kill him quickly, however his first shot will probably be unsuccessful, so you'll have more time to take him down. Make sure you aren't too exposed, because you will have to avoid being shot by other enemy soldiers at the same time.
Like I've already said, the first flare will probably bounce off one of the nearby rocks. Once you've disabled the soldier with a flare gun, start shooting at his colleagues. There's going to be a lot of them. Don't worry if you see some of them retreating. They won't call for backup. Order your men to hide somewhere in front of you, preferably near a good cover.
