In main missions of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, sometimes you have to face other students or opponents. These duels rely on the right choice of actions, which are dependent on the opponent's behavior. You can attack Aggressively, Defensively or Sneaky.

There are 3 types of attacks. After you select one of them, you are not aware of your opponent's attack type. You can attack an enemy aggressively, causing tremendous damage. When you attack defensively, you'll not only have a chance to damage your enemy, but also to cure your character. With a sneaky attack you have the possibility to break your opponent's defense and prepare an attack with a suitable spell.

A sneaky attack breaks a defensive attack.

You can heal yourself during the battle. Simply choose a defensive attack. If your opponent does not use a sneaky attack, you will get several options to choose from. One of them is healing. Use it to heal wounds for two rounds. It's the best way to quickly restore all health points.

If both players use the same type of interaction and the same set of moves against each other, the turn will break even ("It's a tie"). None of the players gets the opportunity to cast their spells, but both players get a small health regeneration bonus. This situation is unavoidable, but it makes the game much easier as it provides free healing.

Every opponent is different and unique. Some enemies may attack you really hard while others will continue to use defensive tactics. You need to know and feel your enemy. For example, if you see that your opponent used a defensive attack for at least 3 rounds, it's probably the time to prepare a sneaky attack. This will allow you to get rid of your enemy pretty quickly and avoid situations with a tie.
