Choosing a house takes place during first minutes of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. You can choose from 4 houses known from the universe: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin and Ravenclaw. Depending on your choice, your hero will spend more time with the students from the same house and engage in unique activities. Choice of a house does not influence the gameplay but changes some of the elements e.g. companions.

Gryffindor

If you've chosen Gryffindor, you'll join students that follow such values as courage, bravery, and sincerity. Their common room is found on the seventh floor, in one of the towers. The head of the house is Minerva McGonagall, who will also be your transmutation teacher. The house will readily accept students characteristic for their courage and determination. The students of house Gryffindor value keeping your composure at all times. Moreover, you will have to deal with a lot of hate from Slytherin.

Hufflepuff

The common room of Hufflepuff is located in the basement. It's a small yet cozy room where your friends can rest after a tough day. The students belonging to Hufflepuff are loyal, honest, and righteous. The students of other houses often call them awkward, but they don't worry about that. The students of this house are the most friendly and helpful group. They will help you on more than one occasion. Pomona Sprout is the head of Hufflepuff.

Ravenclaw

This house likes students who are engaged, smart, and bright. The students belonging to this house are characteristic for their will to study, sagacity, and common sense. Their common room is located in one of the towers, on the seventh floor. The head of Ravenclaw is Professor Filius Flitwick who will teach you spells from the beginning of your stay in the school. If you've chosen this house, your friends will place a lot of emphasis on your growth. If instead of studying and helping others you'll focus on destroying things, the members of Ravenclaw won't like you.

Slytherin

A house created for students that are ambitious and clever. Their common room is located in the basement, not far from Hufflepuff's common room. If you've chosen Slytherin, you need to be vary - all of your companions want to be the best. You'll also encounter a lot of friendly people. You don't have to worry about studying, and if something doesn't go your way, you can simply accuse someone from the other house - your friends will love such behavior. The head of Slytherin is Professor Snape, who will teach you elixirs from the beginning of your adventure in the school. However, you need to remember that he is your guardian - better be nice to him and comply with his orders, otherwise he will make your house pay for your actions.
