How to develop skills in Harry Potter The Hogwarts Mystery? Harry Potter The Hogwarts Mystery Guide and Tips
Last update: 08 May 2018
In Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery you can develop skills associated with magic by attending classes. Professors will teach you how to fly on a broom, cast spells and prepare potions and transmutations. Additionally, your character will be able to develop 3 skills: Courage, Empathy, and Knowledge. Those skills will grow depending on your future choices. Skills development affects numerous dialogue options. You won't be able to give answers to questions of some of the professors, unless you develop the specified ability to a required level.
Rewards
Each event is divided into several segments. Their number depends on the length of an event. After completing a given segment, you will be able to choose a reward. The game offers 3 different rewards - in most cases those are money, skill points or diamonds. By choosing skill points you will be able to quickly gain higher levels. There are all types of skill points in the prize pool - they are not associated with the type of the event. For instance, attending transmutation classes will allow you to develop not only Knowledge, but also Empathy.
Dialogues
Dialogues in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery depend on the skills of the character. They also allow the development of various skills. Skill points are acquired by conducting conversations in specific ways. If you support and comfort other characters, you will gain Empathy points. If you explain tasks to other students or boast about your knowledge, you develop Knowledge skill. If, however, you plead guilty, stand up to someone or inform someone of his/her error, you gain Courage.
During conversations, a skill that will be developed is shown on each dialogue option. This, however, is very misleading, as your choices should not be based on the development of a specific ability, but on finding the right answer. You will find a list of answers in this guide, in the "Answers to students' questions".
Classes
Knowledge skill can be developed mainly by taking part in transmutation and potions classes. In those classes, you gain points for completing each activity. This allows a rapid development of skills, allowing you to show off your knowledge during conversations with other characters.
Empathy can be developed by taking part in the charms classes. During those classes, you will learn new spells and improve your skills. Completing each activity here will reward you with Empathy points. Given the fact that you will spend most of the time in spell casting lessons, your Empathy skill will develop faster than others.
Courage can be developed by taking part in flying classes. There you will receive points for completing each activity. Unfortunately, this is the class you spend very little time on, meaning that this skill is the slowest to develop.
